We visited El Galeon because we were looking to eat dinner by the marina in Ixtapa. We should have smarter to notice that the place was virtually empty during the peak dinner hours (even though we were there in the low tourism season). We ordered a mahi-mahi dish and a shrimp dish, and both were average... they weren't bad and we had no complaints, but we had so much other food in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo that this place seemed rather subpar. AND the prices were definitely too high for the quality of food - I suppose they were higher because of the view of the marina and the likelihood of attracting tourists like us.
If you're looking to go out in Ixtapa, we recommend looking elsewhere before going to El Galeon. You can find better food for lower prices, especially if you look in Zihuatanejo.
