Great food (rather small portions). Great service. But no A/C (this outweighs everything) and no maintenance. Once this was a great place now is decaying.

Don't miss the "platanos Singapur"

“Definite 5star experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

We stayed at the Krystal resort and Bogarts was offered as an al a carte in our package. The food was amazing, 5 stars for sure, but besides the the ambience was in describable. It is themed after the movie "Casablanca" and was wonderfully romantic. While waiting for our dinner we were pleasured by the piano man playing on the grand piano in front of us. The water features filled with floating candles as well as all the tables. Very romantic. Reasonably priced even if it is not in your package it is a definite must go attraction if you are in Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo.

“A unique experience, great food, but some things are starting to get threadbare.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

Not your typical Mexican restaurant in Ixtapa or Zua for that matter. Yes, it is a chain of Crystals if you are at other resort towns in Mexico, but I would suggest you would try it at least once. (We have tried the one in Cancun and didn't think it was as well run as this one.) The food and service is very good. Some dishes and drinks are prepared at your table. Live piano music with 'As Time Goes By' played first after every break. It reminds you of the classic movie Casablanca at Rick's place and that's the whole point I suppose.

A couple of things I would like to see return to this restaurant that has apparently gone away are:
1. The neat Moroccan hats and outfits the servers used to wear.
2. The center reflecting pool inside used to have purple lights. Now its just plain white light and a few lights appear to be burned out.
3. Women used to get a pillow under their feet. No more.
4. Tune the piano on a regular basis and don't play quite so loudly.

These were some nice touches that would restore this establishment to its old glory.

How bad was this experience? We had coupons for a second a la carte dinner and tossed them in the garbage. Enough said.
