My husband and I are from WV and are in the military. We loved the picturesque setting and the cabin was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and all we had to really bring was linens for the beds. Grab your fishing poles, and bring some oars and a row boat and you are set!
The grocery store in Davis is pretty good and not far away. This was a peaceful trip. A great place for families.
This was a great cabin to stay in with our friends. There were three couples, one with a toddler. It was nice that all the stairs had gates to keep him safe. There were three queen beds, which made it perfect for three couples, but it could have easily slept 14 with all the fold-aways and bunk beds in the basement. Even with just three couples the cost was less than $100 per night per couple - a great deal. The cabin was rustic enough to feel like we were getting away, but had all the amenities we would need. Really, we could have just brought bed linens and have been okay. We did bring food to cook, but the grocery store in Davis has plenty to choose from. The towns of Davis and Thomas as great to visit and are within 15 minutes of the cabin. There is also Canaan Valley Resort within 15 minutes, which has golf, wildlife refuge, and many other activities. Great place overall - can't say enough. If we can get everyone together again, we will try to book it again next year.
