“Wouldn't call it fishing...”
Review of Puerto Fishing - CLOSED

Puerto Fishing
Reviewed June 4, 2014

We went out for 4 hours and didn't catch anything, this wasn't a problem as there was plenty of sea life to see. However, I wouldn't call it "fishing" if you don't even get to hold a fishing rod. We were passengers in the boat while the driver and his assistant did all of the "fishing" and listened to their music without speaking to us. Our fishing trip was organised by the hotel... next time we will be sure to organise our own fishing tour. Be careful who you choose to take you on a fishing tour, make sure they speak good english and can share their knowledge of the area with you, so you can at least gain information and site see if you don't catch anything.

Roberto took us out fishing while in puerto escondido! Unfortunately we did not catch any fish but that's how it goes! He defiantly felt bad but it was not for lack of trying!! I would still recommend Roberto as he was an excellent guide, spoke English fairly well which was great! He arranged rides for us to and from the beach even. Later that week he took us to see the baby turtles and that was an amazing time. Hope all is well Roberto !

I have known Captain Roberto for two years and fished with him three or four times over a three month period each year. He is very knowledgeable, and has a very professional manner. Deep sea fishing is never a guarantee but I have almost always caught something when I was out with Roberto. This is especially true for what I call in-shore fishing, where we do not go out to far from the shore. This last Monday four of us went out with Roberto for a morning of fishing. We caught three fish, two of them were dorado's. For those people who like to eat fish, this is the best. Just marinate it and put it on the BBQ.

We kept one dorado and Roberto quickly cleaned it very professionally.

We had a great morning and will be going out with Roberto again.

We took a two hour fishing excursion. In this short time we caught 3 black tuna and a Jack Crevalle. We saw dolphins and rays leaping out of the water. We saw turtles mating. We witnessed an amazing sunset. A local restaurant cooked our catch for dinner. It was a great day.
