“Friendly, Laid Back Beach Bar with Great Food and Service”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

I spent a week in Puerto this April and stumbled upon the Coconut as I was looking for a place to watch the NCAA Basketball Championship. I sat at the bar and found out that Brad - The Owner was a huge sports fan and was going to show the game on the Big Screen. During the course of my week I went back to the coconut more than a few times and each time I found the service and Food to be excellent!!! I also got to meet a lot of the regulars and found them very interesting and fun to talk to as well. If you go make sure to have a few Tequila Completas and a large glass of Don Franco! The Fish Tacos were delicious as well.

“Don't Let Some Reviews Fool You”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

It seems some people don't care a whole lot for The Split because of ex-pats, retired folks and the like. This is not a night club or disco and perhaps Brad does cater a tad to the boomers, ex-pats, etc. BUT The Split has a place on the beach with outstanding sunsets, his food (especially his ribs and fish) is outstanding and he gets in some of the finest blues and guitar players mostly through January and February. Acts such as Enrico Crivellero, Jimmy Bowskill, Dave Rotundo and Chris Cadall are all just awesome, and that is to name just a few he has had.

Brad's staff are always prompt and efficient from the kitchen to the bar and wait staff. This is one of the establishments that seems to never turn over their staff and that says a lot. Eduardo, Eddie, Anna, Maria, Miguel and all others you will just appreciate so much. Lorenzo says...Great work all!

If the crowd and the shoe don't fit then don't go but if you want a great meal, most affordable and stellar entertainment, Brad's Split Coconut is for you!

“music, beach and friendly folks”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

a bit rustic but great music-live and recorded. Live music night involves the scheduled artists and whomever is in the audience. The burgers are very good along with fish of the day. A fun place to hang out with good service.

“Good soup”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Lot of expats, hippie, surfer types, mostly old burnouts, but they do have great soup, and also horseshoes are played on the beach.

“Great Burger, Pass on the BBQ”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

We went here twice during our stay in Puerto. We heard great things about the ribs but were very disappointed. Being from the U.S. and raised in Texas, I know good ribs and BBQ - this was not it. The ribs were tough and blah. We fed most of them to the hobo dogs.
The burger was really awesome but this place is nothing special.
Overall, we had a hard time finding good food in the Puerto/Playa Zicatella area.
