“Consistently delightful!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

Most popular for breakfast, El Cafecito is an excellent spot for a meal anytime of day. Breakfasts offer excellent coffee and traditional fare or more tourist-friendly options such as pancakes, eggs anyway you want, french toast etc. all accompanied with generous and artful servings of fresh, seasonal fruits. From the soups to the salads, sandwiches...the McCarmen being one of my favourites, with avocado, tomato slices and melted cheese on the fresh baked croissant... and other main courses, the food is consistently delicious and very resonably priced.

“It Can Be OK, But They Need To Limit the Rude & Intrusive Buskers”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2014

I enjoy this place during the day & for dinner, but recently had a horrible night because of one particular busker who stayed in our faces, from the time our food arrived until we could no longer stand being there -- about 40 to 45 min. This guy was loud, zero talent, and in between songs would come over and, even though we gave him no eye contact, would say 'I know you love it . . . blah, blah, blah.' The staff need to set down a few rules there. It's a great place to people watch, the staff are efficient and kind. It's expected, given the location, that vendors & buskers & even flame throwers might stop through to make some money from customer tips. However, it has become out-of-hand, especially with this most recent instance, where finally we told the guy he was keeping us from conversing and from enjoying our meal -- this after 45 min. of enduring his out-of-tune voice and guitar which he could barely play anyway. Then he began hurling insults, and, although the food was fine, we left with complete indigestion.

“Great pastries”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

A good place to grab european-style breakfast pastries. I especially liked the jamon y queso croissant, and my husband's favourite was the chocolate croissant. Warning: it doesn't compare with french pastries, but pretty good for Mexico!

Also, their fruit drinks are delicious as well as the enchiladas with verde sauce.

Frequented mostly by travellers.

“Excellent cappuchino”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2014

The restaurant has two locations. We visited the newer branch, near Puerto Angelito. Great coffee, the freshest pastries and a tasty breakfast. The comida corrida, was also tasty and a good value. We repeated our visits throughout our stay in Puerto Escondido.
