We ordered a trip from our amazing hotel Swiss Oasis. The ride there was about 30 minutes from Puerto Escondido. We got our own boat in the lagoon, guided by the native man Pepe. His english was not so good, but he was very kind and charming. We got binoculars and we got to see tons of beautiful species of birds and even an iguana. When sunset was comming, he stoped by the beach seperating the lagoon from the pacific. We watched the sunset which was beautiful, and afterwards he drove real slow back home. On the way, he stoped and let us swim in the dark. When moving in the water at night, the algea lights up real bright. It was very magical. When we stomped the bottom of the boat, we could see literally hundreds of fish as they swam and lighted up the water around them. A very very must see for any lovers of nature!!

So many birds I have never seen before. We took the guided canoe tour and the guide was excellent at pointing out birds and other wildlife. The brown bag lunch wasn't bad either. The night phosphors were incredable. Must do tour when in Puerto.
