“We loved our stay at the Trengrove Cottage!”

We are very impressed with this lovely place! The cottage has been carefully and tastefully decorated to high standard yet it feels cozy and like a real home from home.
We had a shortbread and tea ready for us when we arrived, the host made us feel very welcome, making sure we are happy and comfortable and enjoy our stay - this customer service has been very inspiring I must say!
Beautiful, modern, cozy and clean cottage - everything you need! All amenities were available, the DVD collection is very impressive and the games, wifi and books proved very handy indeed.
We did use the stove and enjoyed a couple of evenings in front of the fire, it was perfect!
We also did put a heating on one morning as it got chilly and it heated up the whole place within 10 mins - it was very pleasant.
The kitchen is very well equipped and the lounge is extremely comfortable.
The bedrooms are well furnished, they all look bright and clean and our bed was very comfortable, made up with crisp clean bed linen - perfect!
Large, beautiful and very private south faced garden - again, very well equipped, large table, comfy chairs and bbq.
The neighbourhood area is very quiet, you wake up to the sound of birds and other animals coming from afar. At night, if you're lucky, you can even hear a couple of tawny owls calling.
There are some great walks in the area too.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Trengrove Cottage! We were sorry to be in such rush and only stay for 3 nights. Next time we visit we will certainly stay longer and enjoy this delightful property. Thank you

We rented this cottage for 7 people. It was great to have a room with bunk beds for the boys, we had our own room and our parents had their own room. The upgrades to the house made it so nice to stay. We were able to cook meals inbetween traveling to all the great areas nearby. We visited St. Ives, Plymouth, St. Michaels Mount, and many other places during our 4 night stay. I would recommend this location to just about anyone. Ian gave great directions and was very easy to work with.

“What a great hideaway for a family holiday”
Reviewed September 1, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The first challenge is to find this superb hideaway. The vendor's directions are helpful and essential as your Satnav sends you on some other most adventurous Cornish roads. However once you have found this bolthole you will be pleased with with what you find. We were especially delighted to find many spices in the kitchen and fresh herbs in the garden. Our family of five adults enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the area and the pleasure of playing some traditional games in the evening. From this superb bass you had the opportunity to travel to Looe, Polperro or Bodmin Moore within a few minutes. There are several walks you can take from the property we recommend the coastal walk from Looe to Polperro. Ian, the owner followed up on a couple of occasions to make sure we was having a good time.

Love love loved Ian's place! It is clean, cosy, beautifully decorated...I could go on and on. It was the perfect place to escape the city and enjoy the serenity of the Cornish countryside. The cottage is well equipped which meant we happily spent one of the nights in watching a DVD and cooking a home cooked meal. Ian provided us with great recommendations and activities to fill our weekend. I would happily recommend this place to anyone and hope to be back soon. Thank you!

“Superb hidden gem”

We stayed in Trengrove Cottage this weekend gone, and had a fantastic weekend. We travelled with 4 adults, 1 small child and 2 small dogs.

The cottage is hidden in a secluded hamlet a couple of miles from Looe, and was the perfect location to take small child and a couple of dogs away for the weekend.

Looe is a lovely town, but Polperro is a lovely dog friendly harbour town (we appreciated the little tram service so our 2yr old didn't have to walk too far into the village), and Talland Bay which lies between Looe and Polperro is a great secluded dog friendly beach, with rockpools and a great cafe.

The cottage was superb, with everything we needed for the weekend. A hearty recommandation - many thanks!!

“Superb cottage in lovely setting”
Reviewed May 7, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We had a fantastic holiday at this wonderful cottage and would very much recommend to anyone wishing to explore the delights of Cornwall.

The cottage itself is beautifully maintained and it's clear considerable effort has gone into making your stay as pleasurable and hassle-free as possible. There is a detailed welcome guide to provide you with any specifics about the cottage you might need, as well as information on the local area - not to mention the team that's just a phone call away should there be anything else you might need. On top of this you'll find a host of other published books and maps to plan your days if you'd not had the chance already. The kitchen is well equipped and the local Spar grocery in Pelynt is larger than it appears from the outside. There are plenty of larger food outlets further afield if desired.

In terms of activities, we particularly enjoy our walks and had great fun exploring the local coastal paths. We did a circular walk starting at Polruan and going round the coast to check out the beach at Lantic bay, before heading inland to meet the river Fowey then back for a deserved pint at Polruan. Polperro is also well worth a visit. Whilst the town itself can err on the side of being a little kitschy, a hike East along the coastal path rewards you with some wonderful scenery. There's also a few routes around the cottage which'll treat you to rolling hills and woodland, with details included in the welcome guide.

When looking for a holiday getaway, it can be tricky to find a balance between somewhere that's nice to stay, which is in a good location and that is also good value. Trengrove Cottage strikes this balance very well indeed and we would certainly recommend to anyone interested in holidaying in the region.
