“Great place for a peaceful break”
Reviewed March 6, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful location. Good for dog walking, and visiting nearby seaside villages.
Ian(the owner) is very accommodating and his cottage has all you need to make the visit special.

“Excellent Centre for exploring Cornwall”
Reviewed October 18, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Travenna cottage is beautifully furnished and very well stocked and provides a quiet retreat from which to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside. Looe and Polperro are both about 5 miles away and there are some lovely walks close by. Two National trust properties (Anthony & Lanhydrock) are also within easy driving distance.

“A wonderful, secluded retreat in Cornwall”
Reviewed July 14, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This year's extended walking vacation in South West Costal England included a week stay at Trevenna Cottage. The cottage is absolutely wonderful and the attention to detail will blow you away. If you really want to get away, live in comfort, cook ,drink wine in a nice garden then this is it. In the evening all you will hear will be the birds singing and distant farm animals settling down for the night. If you have a problem send the owner the email and he will be back immediately.
Tip: it is secluded so follow directions and given and do not be intimidated by the narrow lanes when driving - you will get to your destination

“Fantastic in every way. A fantastic cottage in an idyllic setting”

We are currently travelling around England from Australia and wanted to experience an English cottage in Cornwall. We did our research and located this gem of a place. From day one Ian the host has been nothing but helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was more than helpful and has taken the time to ensure everything goes to plan on our arrival from Australia. We have not experienced the small country lanes before and thankfully Ian provided full directions and even checked that we had arrived ok via email. The place was easy as a result of the directions and is situated in an idyllic quite location which was superb for us after a busy few days in London. A drive over to Padstow or Fowey was no problems at all from this spot. This cottage is suited to those wanting to have a break away from the hustle and bustle and is well suited to rest and relaxation away from it all. We stayed four nights and were well rested as a result. The cottage itself is very well appointed and comfortable with everything you could need. One night we visited Looe and purchased the best local seafood we have had in a long time and returned to have a lovely meal in the private garden. The location is secluded but in no way an issue to get around local spots. The bed was super comfortable and we had some of the best sleep in a long time. We will leave this location with some great memories of Cornwall and this cottage only added to the experiance. I can't think of any negatives at all about this place and the interaction with Ian the host was supurb. Thanks Ian for preparing the firewood and coal so we could enjoy a warming fireplace. Big Thumbs up from us we had a great time. We will be back on our next trip to England.

“Perfect romantic getaway”
Reviewed June 2, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Ian was a great host - even though he was not around he kept in touch via email. Trevenna cottage is really lovely - the photos don't do it justice and you have everything you could possibly need. There are detailed directions and instructions for everything so there is no confusion but it's not intrusive. The decor is lovely and the location is great - quite remote so make sure you are prepared for that - no pubs within staggering distance! We ate in the garden every evening and it was lovely. Highly recommend.

“Luxury in the countryside”

From start to finish this was a fantastic place to stay. Ian was incredibly helpful with my booking, answered all my questions and gave invaluable directions on how to get there. The cottage is a delight with loads of thoughtful extras that really make you feel like you are being pampered: slippers, fluffy bathrobes, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, (yes), an amazing collection of DVDs, flatscreen TVs, lamps just where you need them and a kitchen stocked with so many thoughtful extras. We did have a few questions upon arrival, but found all the answers in the guest manual, which is really worth having a quick read through so that you can take care of the property properly.
We really enjoyed the solitude and privacy, but loved the fact that there is so much to do in the area. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking, I couldn't get enough of the amazing views and loved exploring the lanes and coastal roads by car.
I would recommend this location for anyone who would like a spot of luxury in the countryside.

“Relaxing and cosy, but expensive”
Reviewed January 31, 2016 for a stay in June 2015

Booked on Air B&B. Was a lovely little cottage with everything we needed and all the little things were considered! The host was quick to respond to all emails and queries and the instructions on how to find the cottage were easy to follow. We left the cottage in a clean and presentable manner as requested and as we found it and were shocked to be contacted by the host, claiming we had ripped a tv off the wall. I imagine this was why the minimal 'cleaning deposit' was not returned to us. Since being blamed for this we have not heard from the host and no apology has been offered for the false accusation. Fairly expensive

Management Response
Feb 1, 2016
Dear Henry,

Many thanks for taking the time to review Trevenna Cottage.

Unfoirtunately there has been some misunderstanding, and your claim that '... the minimal 'cleaning deposit' was not returned to us.'' is both incorrect and misleading.

No deposit was taken from you, so there is nothing to repay. Please check Airbnb's deposit policy, which I have copied and pasted here for you:

‘When you book a listing with a security deposit, your payment details are stored but not charged or authorized for the deposit unless the host makes a claim. The host has 48 hours from your checkout date to make a claim on the deposit for damages to their property.’

'If a host makes a claim on the security deposit (WHICH I DID NOT), we mediate and collect payment from the guest, as necessary.'

As you can see; had I made a claim for the damages to the television fitting, you would have been contacted by Airbnb, and asked to agree to any payment. I did not make any claim for the damage to the television fitting, therefore you were not charged or contacted.

Should Airbnb's Deposit policy, as laid out above, still not be clear to you, I have also responded to you directly per email, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have or hear any further comments.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards,
Ian Dickinson.
