Living just up the road from Duloe on the outskirts of Liskeard this is almost our 'local' and certainly better than any of the other pubs in the Liskeard area. We were therefore delighted when The Plough reopened. They usually have a choice of real draft ales which are superbly kept. Although there were a few teething problems last summer and Autumn there has been steady improvement in all departments since then and we are delighted to be in a position to be able to go there two or three times a month. Sunday lunch is excellent - today there was a choice of lamb, beef or slow roast belly pork all served with glazed roasted vegetables, superb Yorshire puddings and crisp raost potatoes. As well as the Sunday raost dinner it was possible to choose from the rest of the varied menu which offers a good range of choice - fish, meat and vegetarian - but not so great as to be unable to deliver on quality, as can often be the case with larger menus. Portion sizes are sensible but more than adequate with an emphasis on presentation and quality rather than quantity. The chef is young and enthusiastic and still developing his ideas but some of his dishes are exquisite. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable due both to the friendly young staff and and the wood burning stove. This is a great place to eat and spend an evening . This is an establishment that is on the up and will only get better because it is determined to do so..
