Living just up the road from Duloe on the outskirts of Liskeard this is almost our 'local' and certainly better than any of the other pubs in the Liskeard area. We were therefore delighted when The Plough reopened. They usually have a choice of real draft ales which are superbly kept. Although there were a few teething problems last summer and Autumn there has been steady improvement in all departments since then and we are delighted to be in a position to be able to go there two or three times a month. Sunday lunch is excellent - today there was a choice of lamb, beef or slow roast belly pork all served with glazed roasted vegetables, superb Yorshire puddings and crisp raost potatoes. As well as the Sunday raost dinner it was possible to choose from the rest of the varied menu which offers a good range of choice - fish, meat and vegetarian - but not so great as to be unable to deliver on quality, as can often be the case with larger menus. Portion sizes are sensible but more than adequate with an emphasis on presentation and quality rather than quantity. The chef is young and enthusiastic and still developing his ideas but some of his dishes are exquisite. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable due both to the friendly young staff and and the wood burning stove. This is a great place to eat and spend an evening . This is an establishment that is on the up and will only get better because it is determined to do so..

A genuine concern with cooking local and seasonal food well. Imaginative without straining for originality for novelty's sake as is so often the case. Also avoided the infuriating over-solicitousness of so many places where they think that good service consists of repeatedly asking if everything is alright. And the orange jelly was a delight!

Ate at The Plough three times in one week, it was so good. The pub is run by enthusiastic and cheery young staff. The chef was voted best chef in Cornwall and I can see why. Each day the menu was slightly different and featured local fish from Looe beautifully cooked.

Good food, fantastic staff and a cosy atmosphere not often found in pubs today.
Has to be the best pub, we have been to.

Excellent find, delicious meal for a very good price, I would recommend to anyone who is staying near Looe. We're staying at talland bay & its about a 5 mile drive.
We didn't book but went early & timed it just right. Can thoroughly recommend the burger & the chocolate tart, delicious.

Will definitely visit again

After hearing that The Plough had re-opened and in the hands of Barclay House we decided this afternoon to give it a go. Food is served all day on a Sunday from 12 and the lovely staff made us feel very welcome. We had an 8 & 11 year old with us and even though they don't to a dedicated child's menu the staff were very accommodating in this area with reasonable charges to match. I don't do Trip Advisor as a rule, but I think the food was fantastic and was worth a mention to the masses as they try and get the establishment on the map.
