This place is great! Everything including the staff, the pretty rooms, the bar, the restuarant, the food and the amazing attention to detail - but particularly Jackie who runs it, she's a star!

We stayed two nights and ate in both nights - and were not dissapointed. the atmospherer in the bar and throught the place is really first class. the room was a treat to go back to, very nicely furnished in a cottage-style romantic kind of way. we peeped in a couple of other rooms - they were all very well put together, and all different. Nice.

Any drawback? Well having to go outside to get from the lovely room to the main building (in the rain) wasn't great - but it's not far , and umberellas are provided (of course!). Also its between the Moors and te Dales - but not on either. That's either a drawback or an advantage - depends how you view it.

Room Tip: Some are roomier than others - ask when you book

Had a wonderful weekend - Magnificent rooms - Great food - Very friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. Nothing too much trouble. A bit off the beaten track, quiet village, but well worth it!

What an amazing find, we booked this place to attend a weeding, expectin bog standard b & b, couldn't have been more wrong from the outset, we entered a beautiful country pub and were met with warm welcomes and shown to our amazng, huge, shabby chic style room. Fully equipped with a breakfast hamper (very cute) and everything you could possibly want, bathroom large and clean, bed comfortable and beautifully made up, basically a little gem. Onto the pub itself, more excellent, friendly service, excellent food, great prices, literally nothing is too much trouble for these guys, even when we rocked up after the wedding with pizza in hand they couldn't do more to help (even though it was very late at night) offering us plates and glasses to eat from. Great value, great countryside location, can't wait to go back

One of the best and most comfortable hotels/inns I have stayed in.
Idyllic setting in lovely village, peaceful setting, great pub with good beer attached and a brillant gastro pub menu. The local black pudding with Granny Smith and cinammon fritters was a magnificent starter and the Whitby landed fish was so fresh it was still swimming.

Will definately return as there appears lots to do in the area.

If staying go forthe Shergar Suite and have the continental breakfast served in your room.

We stayed here with friends for dinner bed and breakfast. The welcome was very warm, the rooms beautiful, the dinner excellent and the service was outstanding. We stayed in the original rooms above the bar, but really liked the look of the new rooms in a separate block which they showed us before we left. Amazing value for money.
