“Sadly this beach is no longer open to the public”
Reviewed January 20, 2011

Last Fall the owner of the property on and surrounding this beach decided to evict all the restaurant and bars and take back all the land. It is no longer open to the public and is defended by police and security guards. This gem is lost to us...at least for now.

“Still an excellent beach!”
Reviewed September 7, 2003

I was swimming in Tenacatita about 2 days ago. It was fabulous!!! Soft sand that seemingly goes on forever. No rocks to scramble over, nice warm water....Not many tourists this time of year...and few vendors....the other side of the beach, up the hill, is a great view spot, "wilder "" beaches, rocky but great photo ops....and BUGS. The small nasty mosquito-like no-see-ums I have been hearing about. They are there on THAT side but not over hte hill down at Tenacatita's main swimming beach. Go and spend the day snorkeling and swimming. Great place, calm water, great for small kiddies and seniors too! We had a great relaxing day there!

“Wow!”

We had the pleasure of a daytrip to Tenacatita Beach with some of the locals from Melaque. It truly IS a hidden treasure. The water is beautiful and safe to swim and snorkel in (lots and LOTS of colourful fish!!!) It was a great day I will never forget. If you get the chance to see it, do go!

“The Hidden Garden of Eden”

Tenacatita Beach in a well secluded beach nestled on the Coast of Jalisco approximately, 10 to 15 kilometers from Barra De Navidad, Jalisco. You will be in awe when you see the clearest water and breath taken by the sorrounding jungle like sceenery. This is definately a place to visti if you have children or if you simply want a quite getaway.Enjoy the long days just relaxing on the beach and soak up some nice warm sunshine.Recommend the Grilled Fish or "Pescado Sarandiado", as is called by the locals.Have fun
