We have come here for our honeymoon and it has thoroughly met our expectations. The welcome was fantastic with a member of staff taking us to our lodge and showing us how everything worked so we had no annoying niggles that you sometimes get! The hot tub is a glorious way to spend the evening gazing at the stars in the peaceful countryside. The bed is so comfortable that we slept 9 hours straight through! And the luxury upgrade was worth every penny, the products are of a high standard and all have been enjoyed. Definitely a perfect choice for our honeymoon.

Many thanks for such a lovely review. We are so pleased that everything was perfect for your honeymoon and everything met your expectations. Honeymoons are so important to get just right. Glad you appreciated the welcome show around at the start of your holiday. Previously we have had great comments about how comfortable our beds are, however your comments exceed even our expectations. Thank you so much. I will pass your review onto our staff and look forward to welcoming you back to Rosehill in the future. All the very best for a great future together..

When we started looking for our holiday in Cornwall, we wanted a luxury lodge with a hot tub and wood burner. We wanted seclusion and tranquillity. We got everything we wanted at Rosehill. After reading all the reviews, I had such high hopes I was worried I'd be disappointed, but not at all!

We stayed in Wheal Lydia which is set on the opposite side to the other lodges and offers real privacy. The lodge was spotless and we had a really warm welcome. In fact throughout the whole booking process, all the Rosehill guys could not have been more helpful. The lodge has a real wow factor and is stylish and welcoming. The lodge was warm and toasty but we did indulge by using the log burner. Modern kitchen and appliances, and again all spotlessly clean. Once you are inside you cannot hear any outside noise.

Big comfy bed, the shower was high pressure and the bathrooms had lots of luxury touches. Free wifi was a bonus as there was no phone signal and all the essentials were provided like towels, tea towels, washing up liquid and some tea and coffee.

The hot tub is a real highlight and we used it at least once a day. We put nuts and seeds on the bird feeder and were thrilled at all the birds and squirrels that appeared. We even braved the outdoor shower which was great fun and piping hot!

Porthtowan is a lovely village with a shop, fish and chip shop and some other independent shops. We had two lovely meals at the Blue Bar and can thoroughly recommend a visit. The scenery is stunning and you are well situated for Redruth and St Ives. There is a Tesco about 5 minutes away.

We had some pretty stormy weather while we were away but it was brilliant taking the 5 minute walk down to the beach at Porthtowan to watch the waves, or sitting in the bay at the Blue Bar with a hot chocolate. The best bit of all though was tucking ourselves into our lodge with the wood burner stoked up or sitting in the hot tub covered by the glass awning whilst the weather raged!

Don't hesitate in booking, it is such a peaceful, relaxing and special place run by wonderful people.

Room Tip: Wheal Lydia is particularly private.

Rosehill Lodges were first recommended to us as we were looking for somewhere to escape to for our 'mini-moon' after we got married last year. We had such a fantastic time - the lodges are perfectly situated, being close enough to walk into Porthtowan and enjoy the beach, cliff-top walks, cafes and bars but also far enough off the beaten track to really feel like you've escaped and found your little piece of heaven.
The lodges are in beautiful condition, with everything you could possibly need taken care of - you can spend a relaxing day sitting on the deck and reading, and then use the well equipped kitchen to make dinner, or you can make the most of the ideal location by getting out & about, and visiting some of Cornwall's sights - most places in Conrwall are within an hour's drive of Rosehill, sleepy little fishing villages, beautiful beaches, cycle hire, tourist attractions - lots to choose from). There are plenty of restaurants recommended in the books in the lodges, but we often ate in or made the most of the Chinese in Redruth which delivers. Finish your day with a dip in the hot tub (each lodge has it's own private tub) and then snuggle up in the lodge with the wood burner and a good film....
We returned this year for our First Anniversary and enjoyed another relaxing week away from it all... it's the perfect place for a romantic break, an ideal base for a family holiday - and one of our favourite places in th UK to go... we can't wait to go again next year!

Note - we stayed in May 2012. Have been lapse in writing review, but just had to as we loved this place!

My husband and I stayed for one week in the St. Pirian's Lodge. St. Pirian's is slightly cheaper than the lodges as it is brick built and next to the reception, but this actually didn't matter to us. If anything it was nicer as the patio and hot tub were a bit more secluded. The lodge is superbly fitted and feels like a 5 star hotel. Everything was spotless and the kitchen had everything you needed and more! Bed was a great size and very comfy.

We spent the mornings exploring Cornwall - Lost Garden's of Heligion, Newquey, St. Ives, Land's End, local stately homes etc, and then came back to the wonderful hot tub and cooked dinner. The hot tub was a real highlight and the reason for picking the lodges. Loved the extra touch by the owners of aromatherapy oils for hot tubs also.

Location wise, the beach is about 10 mins walk and we enjoyed the Blue Bar right on the beach. The beach itself is clean and really magical. Also, there is a little shop with everything you could need (although a Tesco is 10 mins drive) and there is a great fish and chip shop on the walk down to the beach.

My only niggle would be a snuggly large sofa instead of the uncomfortable leather ones which were impossible to get cosy on.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else if visiting Cornwall again.

Room Tip: St. Pirian's is cheaper as not wooden lodge, but just as great as the others and enclosed patio.

We spent two weeks in Wheal Towan in the middle of june 2012 and was one of the best two weeks holiday we have ever had.
The lodges are superb and completly spotless on arrival. All the staff were very freindly and helpfull.
We spent a fair few evening in Bar Blue just a short walk away, great food and views over the beech.
All the lodges are nicly spaced apart and dont look onto each other, hot tub was great after a long days walking!
The only thing i would of liked was a big comfy sofa instead of the little leather one.
Cant recommend Rosehill Lodges enough.

Our family of 4 stayed here last summer (August 2011) and loved it. Beautifully appointed lodges with great facilities - the hot tub was a huge hit with us and the kids! 15 minute walk to the glorious beack where we spent most evening, beer in hand, watching the sun go down while the boys played on the sand dunes. The owners were wonderful, full of local knowledge - just wish we could have magicked some more sunshine! Only minor niggle was that the beds were just too hard....! But otherwise, a wonderful week in a beautiful bit of Cornwall.

6 of us stayed in Wheal Matilda (3 bedroom lodge) in July 2012 (4 adults and 2 children). First impression of the lodge was extremely clean and well looked after. Shower, kitchen, oven absolutely spotless.
Lodge was well kitted out (hairdryer, hoover, iron etc) and the hot tub was fun.
Staff were pleasant and helpful and the lodges are perfectly situated 5 mins from the beach, a pub, a bar, a chip shop, a small supermarket etc.
20 mins from St Ives and 15 mins from Perran porth. Theres also a bus stop right outside Rosehill Lodges which is handy if you want to leave the car. There are car parking spaces right outside the lodge and all lodges are eco friendly so there are grass roofs and plants and flowers everywhere to blend the lodges in with the local greenery.
There is no entertainment onsite but they do have a couple of areas where children can play and there is a good sized playpark next to the pub (5 mins away).
All in all a pleasant place and nice lodge.
