We went on a Sunday evening, it was our first visit, but my sister & brother-in-law live nearby so go there quite regularly.
It was quite busy but we hardly had to wait at all to be served, we had scampi, and ribs (both came with chips & salad) the mixed grill (which came on a sizzling platter, chips in a separate bowl), bean burger & mushroom omlette all were delicious, piping hot and large portions. There were a couple of choices of real ale but I stuck to cider.
We decided to have a dessert & oh wow!!!! Homemade, delicious slices of heaven!!! I had pineapple & cherry sponge with custard, 2 of the party had apple crumble & custard, 1 had bread & butter pudding with custard & finally lemon & lime cheesecake with clotted cream...the landlord confirmed they were made by his wife & boy could you tell...awesome.
The pub is dog friendly (we had three well behaved dogs with us & there were others in there) and we would have felt comfortable in there even if we had not been with regulars. Highly recommended at reasonable prices.
