“Lovely place to stay in Northern Sicily”
Reviewed August 24, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lovely villa in lovely garden -- easy access to trains to Palermo and Cefalu as well as highway for driving trips. Extremely generous and helpful and friendly hosts. House is very charming, garden is gorgeous. We ate figs off the trees. Very comfortable rooms, slept very well. Nice, not-at-all touristy town to stay in.

“Holiday Rental ticked all the boxes”
Reviewed August 20, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We liked the village feel close to the property and the tropical garden .Maria and Ricardo were helpful hosts .I Loved the village of Castledccia and the friendly people who welcomed us into their world for our stay including dancing Italian /Latin Rythms almost nightly in the Piazza inc sampling various coffee houses etc all friendly and interested in your experience of their town.
The beach/cove at Santa Elia with the nearby plunge from the rocks area was a hit with my children who are good swimmers .
The archalogical site of Solunto a must !.
Palermo City a world treasure .
As a cautionary note I would avoid using Taxi services as they are usually expensive .All in all we had a wonderful time and would not hesitate in recommending same .

“Experience the real sicily”
Reviewed June 14, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Casteldaccia is an unpreposessing village hiding an experience of the real sicily. Maria and ricardo's villa takes your breath away, and continues to please. So much is accessible from here that even after a month we are still trying to see all the experiences. Ricardo has given us endless access to how things are done locally, as well as his own artistic expression. From cafés to food from shops and restaurants everything is superb and cheap. You should have Ricardo show you how to really cook Sicilian food. If you choose this villa you are choosing far more than somewhere to stay, but also a place full of comfort and delights.

“After this taste of Sicily...you want more !”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 for a stay in July 2012

From the moment you unpack your suitcases in Maria's and Riccardo's home forget what you left behind...at least this is what happened to us, myself and my daughters, while in Casteldaccia and surroundings. The house is quiet but exciting, solid elegance and modern comfort, you are always immersed in a luxuriant garden, the beach only a short drive away. In the long Sicilian summer day there is room and time for a refreshing dip into the sea in the morning, while from the early to the late evening you can go for excursions to Palermo as well as to a number of surrounding magnificent old towns that you have seen only in movies or read about in fictions. The town itself offers opportunities to taste genuine Sicilian specialty food, from you morning coffee to relaxing night suppers in the garden of some local or nearby "trattoria" .. and, above all remember., there is nothing that Maria and Riccardo would not do to make you feel at once at home and in the real thing !

“Garden of delights”
Reviewed February 11, 2014 for a stay in September 2012

Our extended family was received with a warm welcome by Maria and Riccardo who showed us around the house and helped us get oriented to the town, connections into Palermo and good stores and restaurants nearby. The house is so comfortable and quickly feels like your own home. When we were in the house, we always opted for the large garden (you'd never guess how big the house is and how large the garden is from the front entrance), cool in the early September mornings and magnificent for dinner and evening. The garden has orchard areas with pomegranites, persimmons, figs and flowers, shade trees and more. Plenty of good reading material for tourists was also available in the house. We spent time exploring Casteldaccia, a pleasant town with its piazza, cafes, market, good gelati, viewpoints and places to buy everything we needed for our stay. We used Casteldaccia as a base to explore Palermo and Cefalu. We had a car so it was easy to get down to the train station or the beach or further afield along the coast and return in the late afternoon or early evening. After a full day, what a pleasure to relax in the garden. I would love to return for a couple of weeks and invite my large extended family to just come and go, relax and explore wonderful Sicily.

“Just what we needed”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

From the friendly summer buzz in the streets of the small Sicilian town of Casteldaccia, I passed through an ancient portal into a self-contained paradise. My husband and I were welcomed by the cooling shade of a rich garden and the smiling and warm hospitality of the owners, Maria and Riccardo.
We settled on two floors of an ancestral home, enhanced with the most modern facilities, embellished by beautiful mosaics of bright Mediterranean colours, thanks to the artistry of Riccardo.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Upstairs they opened onto a balcony overlooking the garden, while downstairs they were shaded by a porch, furnished with a dining set and loungers. The large laid-back kitchen is a charming fusion of times gone with the comforts of modern appliances.
Altogether, the unspoiled atmosphere in which to eat and relax in peace. Certainly, at the end of a busy day of sightseeing, the ideal place where to enjoy a glass of wine enveloped in the velvety Sicilian summer night. The garden below is luxuriant, with beautiful palms, other exotic plants and lush flowery bushes.
The location is very convenient for easily reaching the most important tourist sights. A nice not overcrowded beach can be reached in a few minutes by car.

“We really enjoyed the stay with Maria and Riccardo at their wonderful villa”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 for a stay in September 2013

My daughter Francesca and I spent a week at this magic place in the heart of Casteldaccia. The garden is fabulous and the house is intimate and full of creative touches. A lovely retreat in a small pleasant corner of Sicily.
