An excellent real ale (Otter bitter) on propee proper draft, ie not even handpumps but straight out of the barrel behind the bar. Wet towels on the barrel are a thing of the past, here they have sort of jackets with refrigerant flowing through, so the beer is kept steady at the correct temperature (11degC I think it is). Also some other quality ales on handpump, and a "real lager" (nice try but still no prize from me). I can't answer to the restaurant, I can say there was not a stink of old chips, hurrah, and the blackboard had some interesting choices.
