“Comfortable, charming place to stay in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Stayed in a simple, but well appointed cabin for 3 nights with my girlfriend. Big double bed in a cozy room plus 2 bunks in another room and 2 single beds in a loft. Living/dining/kitchen had comfortable couches and a wood stove. All nicely renovated with the fisherman's bunks still intact. Nice balcony with a view over the bay. Clean, comfortable base for a visit to this part of Lofoten. Dagmar was very kind and helpful. Don't miss the fish burger on the other side of the road. Highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights in a cabin (Rorbur) in Sakrisoy and had a phenomenal time. Cabins are spacious, with a big living room/kitchen. There were just two of us, but the cabin could have easily slept 6+ people. Only one double bed, but there are bunk beds in every corner.

Do go to the Anita fish market, climb the ReineBriggen and see the midnight sun.

We came for one night and stayed four!!!! Fantastic located rorbuer on and island in the opening of Reine Fjord to the sea. Clean nice comfortable cabin with all facilities and on top of it the warm freindly nice hospitality of Michael. Michael's advice and guide made our period in Sakrosoy the part of our trip to Norway. Highly recomended.

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool nor fitness center but free rowing boats are free for use.

Reine and the island of Sakrisoy are the most beautiful places to stay in all of Lofoten. The mountains, fjords, ocean, bridges, boats and houses all combine to make breath-taking vistas in this area. Dagmar and Michael were wonderful hosts. The room was clean and comfortable. the only disadvantage is that the views from the room are of the small fjord and not the mountains but those views are available the minute you walk to your car. Having a kitchen really helped with the expense of Norway. There was a fish market just across the street and a grocery store close by. Dagmar also recommended a restaurant close by. While Sakrisoy is at the southern end of the Lofoten islands it is still and great location for day trips to the major sites. We loved the experience of staying in an authentic rorbu is such a perfect spot.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have wood burning stoves.

The Lofoten Islands are one of the world's truly remarkable destinations and nobody who takes the trouble to visit them will ever forget the experience. And our stay in Sakrisoy Rorbuer made the experience so much more memorable.

The cabins are authentic, yet comfortable and well equipped. There is a small wood-burning stove in the living room to add to the atmosphere. Bedrooms are small, but somehow it doesn't bother you: it is just supposed to be like that! We stayed in some of the modern rorbuer which were built specifically for the tourist industry on our trip as well. Although these modern cabins may be more comfortable and better equipped than Sakrisoy, they don't have a fraction of the atmosphere. If you have a choice, don't think twice: stay in the real thing.

Fresh fish is available across the road and there is a supermarket a relatively short drive away on one of the neighboring islands. Do your own cooking and have your meal and wine on the deck, with the water under you and the mountains all around you. Heaven!

Don't miss the drive to Å and Nusfjord, two beautiful villages within easy reach of Sakrisoy.

Perfect Location at Reine Fjord with a view towards the village. We enjoyed off-season tranquility, authentic athmosphere and our own fireplace with loads of snow outside. The regulär cabins have two sleeping rooms with double beds so for four persons they are quite a budget option by norwegian standards.
