Perfect Location at Reine Fjord with a view towards the village. We enjoyed off-season tranquility, authentic athmosphere and our own fireplace with loads of snow outside. The regulär cabins have two sleeping rooms with double beds so for four persons they are quite a budget option by norwegian standards.

Dagmar and Michael, the owners of this Rorbuer in the Lofoten Islands, are charming and "real." It was transporting to sit in this small, comfortably-refurbished cabin and think about the austere and challenging lives of Norwegian fishermen a century ago. We cooked and ate all our meals in the rorbuer--a nice change from travelling and restaurant meals. Fresh fish was available for purchase across the street and the simple kitchen had everything we needed. We drove all over the islands and then came back to our little cabin for relaxation and reading and looking out on the water. It was 24 hour daylight, which was fascinating. Tip to Dagmar and Michael: work up a little written history of the rorbuers and leave it in the cabins for your visitors to read. Include the story of your refurbishing of the cabins. Tell as much as you can about the lives of the people who would have lived here. The people who visit your rorbuer are interested in history !!! Fellow trip advisor visitors: do not miss going to the Lofoten Islands. It's a bit of trouble but well worth it.

Room Tip: Just be on the water !

Excellent accommodation with authentic atmosphere, right on the water, family feeling, large apartments, well refurbished, newly renovated. Great location, possible to rent a boat, fishing right from the terrace. Dagmar /the owner/ is very friendly and helpful.
Nothing negative at all, we will never forget our stay in Lofoten in general and I hope we will be able to come back again.
I really recommend it, go and enjoy!

We were there in July 2010 but were so impressed I wanted to share it.

We pulled the phone number out of a guide book and reserved what turned out to be the most wonderful place we have ever been. Little "huts" on stilts over the water with the most fantastic mountain views in the world. The owners are wonderful and the prices very reasonable - for Norway. We hated to leave and would return today if we could.

No exaggeration, this place is almost heaven on earth. The "rorbu" cabins are exquisite both outside and inside. They have been obviously newly restored and are actually quite luxurious for this kind of accommodation. However they keep a really authentic atmosphere (I heard they are actually occupied by real fishermen at low season! :) and the furniture is really nice (not another “grandma”-inspired decoration).
But the real treat is outside: the cabins are literally built on the fjord, and what a fjord! The water is crystal clear, surrounded by majestic mountains; don’t hesitate to borrow one of the small boats parked under the little quay! And on top of all, cabins are not so expensive at high season. Definitely one of the best experiences during my travels in Norway (and they are many!)
