“lot to see”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

there is a lot going on here especially on the weekends. nice fountain in front of CATHEDRAL, there are some restaurants with music and if you're lucky to be there when there are festivities, there is folkloric music and dancing, clowns, etc. Lot of stores to shop in.

“Magical Place”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

The Zocalo was my favorite place in Puebla. It is bustling with life and people--vendors, families, couples, tourists, pidgeons, and so much more. It is a must visit place. Wish I had had days to spend there and people watch.

“The best things in life are free.......”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

Its an old adage, but nowhere does it apply more than in Mexico... and particularly in the Zocalo.
We always look for accommodation on or near the Plazuelas and Zocalos.. because of an evening ,one can just wander down amongst the action.. mingle with the Mexican families and watch the children all interact.. have some fascinating conversations.. all for nothing... although if you wish you can hop into an omnipresent OXXO store and buy a Bohemian Obscura beer and a can of Margarita for 27 pesos and sit and consume on a park bench. They do not mind as long as you do not consume to excess. And one of the best Zocalos in all of Mexico is right here in Puebla.

“Nice place to people watch”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

I love the Zocalo in Puebla! It is always filled with both locals and visitors and there is always something going on. It is surrounded with shops, restaurants and a historic cathedral. The Zocalo is ground zero for Puebla and the rest of the city spreads out from there. My favorite thing to do there is sit on one of the cast iron benches and people watch. The only negative thing about it - watch out for the plethora of birds!
