My partner and I are on a Mayan Circle Tour with 16 other people. We stayed at the hotel and upon arriving thought there would be a very long book in process/waiting time. This was not the case! We had our keys promptly, the staff were extremely friendly and provided us with a map of the city upon request. Not all staff can speak English but they will do all they can to help, or find someone else to assist you who can speakk english. The room we had is basic but was fairly clean. Basic toilletries are provided with fresh towels and hot water in the showers! We were happy to note a safe in our room for security and a television with plenty of channels to keep u preoccupied (although none in English). There is a great bar down stairs which i had some great cocktails from and we all thouroughly enjoyed our meals.
Fabulous location close to everything!

You're in the heart of Puebla, right on the main square on a bustling street with a beautiful plaza and cathedral across from the hotel. The rooms are either extremely dated (especially bathrooms) or have been redone...ask for a balcony triple overlooking the zocalo on the 2nd floor as 1st floor rooms need new bathrooms. Believe me, the old bathrooms were awful.

Don't plan on plugging in your various devices....there are NO outlets in the room unless you unplug the lamp or charge your laptop or phone in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was nice and the sidewalk cafe in front had good food for a reasonable price. Parking rates were pretty outrageous...about $18US per day! You park for free in their garage only from 8pm to 8am...after that it was 170 pesos per hour.

A better option might be the Camino Real...it's only a block or so off the zocalo but much quieter and a nicer property.

Room Tip: 2nd floor balcony triple on the zocalo

The location can't be beat, if you get a room with a view you have the Cathedral on your window. This has a price - morning bells are ringing, ding, dang, dong!! But also at night you have lots of noise from the bar and restaurant as well as the street right downstairs. If beds were confortable then none of this would have mattered but the pillows were hard as bricks!!
Room mas spacious and clean. Hot water abundant and fast. The hotel has a good restaurant that used to be very famous but we had better meals elsewere.
Walking distance from everything!! All in all, you get what you payed for.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms = great view, noisy Inner rooms = quiet but no view at all, some dont even have windo...

When doing the research and booking this hotel, we had decided we wanted the experience of staying right on the Zocalo for our first visit to Puebla. In fact, I went so far as to contact the hotel by phone to make sure we had a balcony room overlooking the Zocalo. Long story short, the Zocalo experience would have been fine for one night but a Sunday day and Sunday night were way more than could be expected! With many of the streets around the Zocalo closed on Sunday, the commotion level started first thing in the morning with the bicycle riders, then the bells from the Cathedral ringing for extended periods (up to 15 minutes straight) and then the Sunday night crowds partying into the early morning on Monday.

While the rooms were large and clean, the beds felt as though they were filled with oinx y marmol from the nearby town of Tecali de Herrera, which produces incredible products of onyx, marble, travertine and most any other kind of rock.

As exhibited by the hotel staff, it was our impression that one cannot count on many people in Puebla speaking much English. As Mexico's 4th largest city, this aspect was a surprise to us. As for the hotel staff, we came in contact with one front desk jefe and one bellman who could communicate in English.

The Sales Manager MIGUEL, is just one if the nicest blokes around, and he will do practically anything to assist. The rooms are huge.. have two balconys opening on to the Plaza. The included breakfasts are very satisfying, and served by a good bunch of smiling faces The RESTAURANT manager Victor will also go out of his way to help. You are right on one of the world,s most livliest Plazas and surrounded by a squillion restaurants and Cafes and Bars until the friendly protection of the Porticos that totally surround the square.

Room Tip: although the front rooms are great they can be noisy as they are on the square , but the doors can b...

The Hotel Royalty Centro was indeed a pleasant surprise on my arrival in Puebla. The location right on the Zocalo with a view of the cathedral couldn't have been better. The single that I booked for 500+ Pesos was more than adequate. The bathroom was modern with good ventilation and a steady supply of hot water.
A friendly staff, a good breakfast in the first floor restaurant, Included in the room rate, and the incredible location rounded out a delightful stay.
Only two negatives that hardly impacted my visit: the WiFi signal was weak and the TV had very limited choices for stations.
Otherwise the Hotel Royalty Centro offered good value and a great location to tour one of Mexico's most interesting colonial cities.

Room Tip: If WiFi is important to you make sure that the signal is strong. Limited TV channel choices

This budget hotel is all about location as it is right across from the zocalo and it's cathedral. There are sidewalk tables to watch all the activity and a bar inside that overlooks it all.
Only spent one night here passing through Puebla so thought the room was fine for what I needed. I always prefer the location to room amenities as I am there to be out and about.
