The Hotel Argento Inn was not my first choice when booking a hotel in Zacatecas, but when some vacation days suddenly became available, it was the first place in going down my list that had accomodation for all the nights I wanted to stay. Unfortunately, that turned out to be during the annual street theater festival in October.
The staff is very friendly, if not posessing an encyclopedic knowlegeable about Zacatecas. The facilities are very clean and well maintained, and the furniture is decent, for the most part. Our bathroom was enormous and featured a jaccuzi tub (although to fit it in the regular space for a tub, it seems it's a bit small and cramped). There was a micowave and a mini-refrigerator, and they give you a couple of free bottles of water, although the water from the faucets is purified. Upon request you can get their "ironing kit" of an ironing board and iron. The hot water seemed to be abundant and the water pressure decent. During breakfast, which is a good value for around $7 USD for a buffet, a pianist plays old standards for tips.
The rooms were a bit underlit and blue at night, with florescent bulbs in all the sockets, but with a room facing the front of the building, during the day it was sufficiently bright with natural light. My biggest complaint was that the bed was so firm that I found myself waking up all through the night, trying to adjust and get comfortable on it.
At around $111 USD per night, the Argento Inn is at the same level as some of the nicer hotels in the same area. Yet it definitely is a decent hotel (apart from the very hard mattress) and if you end up here, you might feel like you are not getting the value for your money that you could at other hotels, but you're not going to feel like you're getting ripped off.
