Casa Xola is a beautiful renovation of a colonial mansion, yet with only three rooms, so plenty of space both indoors and on patios.
I just completed a nine-day stay in the Mexico room - do NOT think Mexican-kitsch rather Mexican elegance: great beds, pillows, linens, architectural details (marble baths with lots of hot water).
The room opens on a large plant-filled courtyard.
Excellent wifi and a spare computer on-hand. There is also a large sala with a wide-screen TV and immense movie library (just in case the weather keeps you off the wonderful streets of Morelia).
Abasola is one of the great colonial streets of Morelia, only two blocks from the Cathedral (with fascinating sites on the way).
A variety of restaurants is nearby with Arleigh the authoritative, SPANISH-speaking guide.
Breakfasts are excellent and negotiable both as to time and content.
Did I mention that it is a bargain?
