La Posada del Artista was a delight in every possible sense of the word. Floret the manager and her charming daughter (also Floret) were always on hand to serve delicious breakfasts in the sculpure garden, to answer our questions about Morelia, call Taxis. Our room was large, spotless, with comfortable beds and a nice sofa. The location is perfect. You can walk to the center of town in about 30 minutes, but inexpensive taxis are also available. We were there for the International Festival of Music, and were thrilled to discovered that the famous flower carpets, made only by the indigenous people of Patamban, were displayed in the large, tree lined pedestrian area right outside our door. I had considered reserving in a room closer to the center of town, but discovered that that area is terribly noisy. I haven't slept so deeply, long and well in a long time as I did at La Posada del Artista, which was totally silent at night. One night we arrived back from a concert, feeling very chilly and asked "Arnold" the man of all tasks if he could possibly make us a hot chocolate. He first said, sadly, "I can't find it." But about 10 minutes later he knocked on our door with two steaming cups of true Mexican cocoa. The hotel is owned by a famous sculptor and evidences of his beautiful art are displayed in the garden where we had breakfast. I would never stay anyplace else in Morelia and recommend it very highly!
