Fantastic selection of homemade soups, and the biggest scones you ever saw in a cream tea! Onsite bakery so fantastic bread, but expect to pay for the privilege.

This attraction is rather more gift shop and cafe than anything else but it is still a superb place to visit. A working water mill grinds the flour that is then turned into the goodies for sale in the cafe and shop. There will be a sign outside if they are actually milling and it's worth picking such a day as the old guys who run the mill are happy to describe the process in their rich Devon accents. Buy a loaf of their wholemeal bread, it's wonderful.

We found this having walked along the Otter Estuary from Budleigh Salterton, about three and three quarter mile walk in a nature reserve. It's a working water mill, still producing flour. Very interesting, nice cafe and museum, gift shop and food shop selling local produce and their own flour. Friendly informative staff.

Excellent place to visit when you are in this part of the country. Highly recommend the cream teas, but be prepared as you will pay top whack. Lots of other quircky gifts on offer, but again, rather expensive. Mill sits on the river otter and some lovely easy walks along this. Look out for the Kingfishers - I saw no less than two on our walk to Budleigh Salterton.

an old Mill on the River Otter. There is a lovely walk from here to Budleigh Salterton, along the River Otter, where we were lucky enough to see a kingfisher.
The cream tea at the Mill was very tastey and the shop and art work interesting.
