We stayed here as part of a Road Scholar tour. It is on the same block as the Costa Rican Language Academy, and is close to the Mall San Pedro and the University. A good location, though not central to the city.

The rooms were clean and nice, the internet worked, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They were kind to help us practice our Spanish, even though dealing in English would have been more efficient.

We had a room overlooking the pool and were not bothered by traffic on the street outside, though we understand others have heard traffic noise in other rooms. Even in February, we thought the air conditioning was necessary.

The pool was attractive, but with holes in the elbows of my swimming costume I couldn't partake. Jürgen's Restaurant (attached, and we understand owned by the same person) was nice, though a little too fancy and expensive for our taste. At least the food was good, and it's very handy. They also provided breakfast during our stay, and that was plentiful and tasty.

We'd stay there again ... we probably WILL, in fact, if we return to study more.

Room Tip: Go for the pool side, not the street side. Stay on the ground floor if you can't do stairs; we don't think there is an elevator.

We loved this boutique hotel! The service was extraordinary - the entire staff was friendly and attentive, especially at the front desk. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. We loved the attached restaurant, Jurgen's, where we had two memorable meals. The food was creatively prepared and the service was outstanding. It is located 1 block from the city bus and 1 1/2 block from the San Pedro Mall. We plan to stay here whenever we get the chance to return to San Jose. I even had a business meeting that needed a Skype location. They gave me the conference room with its own WiFi service!

Room Tip: Most rooms overlook the pool.

This hotel is an amazingly well kept little jewel in the USA because I couldn't find it for a long time. But, always looking for boutique hotels, this one is right up my alley. I loved where it's located, quiet, small and best ambience. Good food with nice large rooms. For a 4 star, this is really good value. Definitely stay there again.

The hotel is well located in San Jose, rooms are fairly large, shower is may be a bit old but everything works. Breakfast is correct and the restaurant, Juergen's is pretty good as well. I found it great during a business trip.

Room Tip: upper rooms, not street level

The rooms are very nice. The staff is great. The breakfast is great. The hotel is walking distance to a mall with a big food court. The restaurant at the hotel, Juergens, is great. It also is possible to walk to the Jade Museum and Gold Museum (both are fantastic) or catch a taxi. The hotel has a great limo service back to the airport.
