We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Cottage and it could not have been better. We have stayed here a number of times in the past but not for a few years now and it was good to find that it was just as it was. The owners Sarah & William are just so friendly would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The staff are all very efficient and friendly. They don't know how lucky they are working at such a lovely hotel with excellent owners. We also could not believe how lucky we were with the weather, it was just sunny most of the time and since we have been home the weather has changed there and become very wet so we picked the right time to go. The food is just as good as it always has been and there is also fresh fish on the menu everyday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys good food and excellent service and not forgetting the fabulous sea views. Margaret & Paul

Lovely hotel and very attentive staff. Little old fashioned in its decor with sheets and blankets.!! Breakfast was great, hot and fresh. Little things made it special ..no foiled butter, but proper butter on a dish and marmalade also presented in a dish, not jars. Overall really enjoyed my weekend experience... The but ..need to sort the shower out!! A tap flow style experience is not a good one. It was pointed out to a member of staff.. With a promise it would be sorted... Sadly not the case, maybe some responsibility by the staff member to update the customer would have been appreciated. Overall a lovely relaxed experience and I have no hesitation in considering a return visit or recommending others to stay.

As a Concierge in a five star hotel in Knightsbridge I have to say how impressed I was with this Hotel. You can have jacuzzis, spas, swimming pools, flat screen tvs but these things are nothing compaired to the view out of our bedroom window in the morning. The Hotel is clean, warm, cosy ,great breakfast and dinner offers and the wonderful owners who were so welcoming and helpful.
Free parking, beautiful walks and secluded little beach. One thing-there was no signal for my mobile phone so I couldn't go on facebook or twitter or get emails from my work,in other words-absolute heaven.Thank you,Thank you, thank you!
We will be back and for much longer.
Love Richie and Kat.

Hotel is a lovely old fashioned one with sporadic mobile phone reception and wifi. Be aware if you do not go for the slightly more expensive deluxe room you will have a VERY small double with sheets and blankets, no sign of the king size bed with duvet in the photos! Too small and uncomfortable for my husband and I who would love to stay again but not in the double rooms as bed hard, small and room very small too!

That said, service was very good, friendly, and the food, both dinner and breakfast was lovely with full silver service and reasonable wine list. The lounge is lovely with games and magazines with open fire one end. Wonderful views and beautiful setting. You won't be disappointed. Try it.

Room Tip: Make sure you book deluxe and check king size

We had eaten here but we had never stayed. What a pleasant surprise. We arrived a little early, but our rooms were ready so up we went. I think they have been recently refurbished as they were spotless. The en-suite bathroom was immaculate, although the shower didn't have enough pressure.

The evening meals were very nice five course affairs. I was stuffed. Breakfast is a hot buffet with all the usual cereals and fruit, plus guests can ask for various items from the kitchen. In short, the food was excellent.

The location is superb, but make sure you have a room with a sea view. Ideally placed for walks and the beach. In the evenings you make your own entertainment.

We stayed at the Hotel for 3 days in February and found the the food, service and cleanliness to be of the highest standard. The staff were friendly and efficient and the location excellent with good cliff walks and a secluded Cove. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We will certainly be returning in the near future.

I stayed at The Cottage for a 2 night break with a girlfriend and we usually visit at least twice a year. Both of us are in business and live very hectic lives, so the opportunity to really chill out at The Cottage is perfect. The bedrooms which have been refurbished during the past couple of years, are spotless, warm and very comfortable. The food was excellent home cooked food, produced from local produce. It is always like stepping back in time but so welcome in these fast moving times. The quality of the service and friendliness of the staff is second to none. Thank you everyone for such a lovely break.
