We stayed at the Mykonos Condos (Building B) for four nights in March 2007. From what we could tell, Mykonos condos is one of the better condo complexes on the beach in Costa Azul. Playa del Sol, which I believe used to be called La Jolla, also looks nice but is a little farther down the beach away from the surf breaks. Las Olas looked very run down. Mykonos condos glistens from the beach - whitewashed buildings, nicely landscaped lawn and gardens, well maintained pools and hot tubs. There is a tennis court, which we used almost every evening, as well as a small gym. The condo that we stayed in was nicely furnished, had a wonderful view of the ocean from a huge balcony, and provided nearly every amenity possible (tennis rackets and balls, grill, beach towels, etc.) There are four surf breaks just a short 5 minute walk down the beach. You can rent boards from several vendors. We recommend Costa Azul surf shop, which is just off the beach on the highway. They have a huge selection of boards to rent, and the owner is really nice and really knows his stuff. There is a huge grocery store called Mega which is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Mykonos. We did not rent a car and did just fine. You can catch a bus on the highway just behind the condos to take you to san jose del cabo (7 pesos/ $.07 USD) or cabo san lucas (23 pesos/$2.3 USD). Restaurants were much more expensive than we had anticipated so it was nice (and economical!) to stock up at the grocery store and eat most of our meals on our balcony overlooking the ocean. I highly recommend Mykonos for anyone looking to rent a condo on the beach, surfers, families, couples. I would not recommend the condos to young partiers - stay in cabo san lucas instead. We rented directly from the owner, which was less expensive than renting from a company.
