Casa Del Mar Beach Condos
Reviewed August 25, 2006

Casa Del Mar was beautiful and the room (suite) was large enough to accommodate 2 adults and 1 teenager comfortably. View from the main balcony and juliette balcony in the bedroom was fantastic.

One problem with native "hormigas" (ants). The bathroom had a trail of these tiny little things marching around the shower ceiling and around top of the mirrors - they never ventured anywhere else but if you are a stickler for that type of thing - make sure you ask the desk to spray for las hormigas!

The private pool behind each building was especially nice since the main pool was crowded with a large wedding party. Also, the main pool and swim up bar both need a serious re-tile.

Breakfast buffet had a great variety - personally the menu was better as buffets are not my thing. Eat at the hotel bar as an alternative to the formal restaurant - food is just as good. Senor Sweets at the marina was great - Cabo Wabo was average.

The trip to the city by hotel van and back can't be beat however if you don't want to wait until the 3pm pick-up - take the bus - it is only $1

Water taxi to the Arch was $10 each and was worth the short trip - wouldn't get off on the beach and stay though as there is no shade, a limited amount of beach and was crowded.

It was very very hot - hat is absolutely necessary and lots of sunscreen.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

My wife and I loved this resort!

Casa del Mar was one of the quietest places we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived and were handed a cool washcloth and a Margarita, we found the staff and the services to be excellent. Everyone we encountered was both professional and friendly.

One of the most striking aspects of Casa Del Mar is the grounds: beautiful, lush landscaping, dramatic pools, stone walkways and colorful, hacienda-style architecture. Truly one of the nicer places we have stayed. Their spa services were also very good.

The beach is beautiful (though you cannot swim in the surf as it is too rough). Unlike the hotels in downtown Cabo, the beaches on the "corridor" are very open and spacious.

While the grounds and service are easily 5-star quality, I would only give the rooms a 4-star. Nothing major, they are just not what most people would consider to be 5-star rooms. But that did not matter to us because the place was absolutely gorgeous, quiet and visually stunning.

Sitting on our private deck watching the moon rise each evening was priceless. We found the restaurant to be very good. We also had their dinner on the beach one evening and that too was a great experience.

We will be coming to Casa del Mar again for sure!

we set out to stay at las ventanas; after researching we found it was very pricey. We stayed at CASA DEL MAR LAS VENTANS' next door neighbor yes only about 25 yards away from us on the beach. we were free to eat visit and use the spa...but to spend 1000.00dls a day forget it.
we liked the layoutof CASA DEL MAR more then any property on the corridor the designers who layed out the property were genius. by building the hotel on a diagnal they made best use of the mtns and ocean views.
the hotel is small and intimite which is very nice. i would recommend it and even go again if there was a reason to go back to cabo...which from our point of view there is not. residing on the east coast we have fla, the carib and yes even more accessible cancun, ixtapa etc. cabo too far and for what, it is strickly for the convience of the west coasters.
suggestions for casa del mar...1. provide cushions for your lounge chairs; you failed terribly here. 2. the consiage told us to take taxi from here to there which always added and average of 50.00 to our resturant bills. it wasn't until we went back to the airport that our taxi driver said there was a bus we could take that runs all the time from all points for 1.50 each way...i'll never forgive the hotel for not telling us this while we were there. we spent about $300.00 in taxi fares.

Our trip was everything I hoped it would be and more. I took my 20 & 24 year old daughters to Cabo in January for a long weekend of bonding. The Casa del Mar is breathtakingly beautiful. Whoever is doing the design work in Cabo is doing a fabulous job. Every concievable need was anticipated and met. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive. In fact, the locals were very accommodating wherever we went. Our first night we had dinner on the beach at the Mesquite grill. The temperature during the day was in the 80's, but at night it got cool. They gave us blankets to wrap ourselves in and each table had a terracotta oven which made it cozy. The food was the best I've ever had anywhere in Mexico. There was romantic music and for dessert they gave us marshmellows to toast.
The 2nd day we went into Cabo to shop. It reminded me of Cancun, mostly tourist junk. That night we went to San Jose (which was equidistant from our hotel) to dine at Tequila, which was excellent. Once again the ambiance was romantic and the food and service were excellent. We went shopping the next day in San Jose and it was wonderful. It reminded me of Carmel in California. Lots of little shops with very interesting art work and some of the jewelry was very unique.
The third night we went to Esperanza to dine. We had drinks in the bar area and watched the sun set. The food and drinks in Cabo are very expensive. Three drinks and tip were $42. Dinner here was the most expensive - for the 3 of us - $321. I must say that I knew beforehand that food was expensive, so it wasn't a surprise. The food was delicious and dining at Esperanza was every bit the gourmet experience. One thing, be sure to read the check because they did add on the gratuity.
Anyway, no need to make the grueling plane ride to Hawaii any more. Cabo was every bit as beautiful and only a 4 1/2 hour plane ride.

I just returned from Casa Del Mar where I stayed in Del Sol Condo 102. I was able to take advantage of all the amenities of this high-end resort without having to be a hotel guest! The location of Casa Del Mar Resort and this condo were perfect-one of a kind. Imagine being in paradise everyday, all day, with no worries. I had a full ocean view from every room and could see and hear the ocean water as it crashed against the beach. The condo was furnished with all the amenities you could need (oven, microwave, refrigerator, silverware, dishwasher, washer, dryer, 2 t.v.'s, DVD player, a safe to put all valuables) and very clean. The patio was one of the best parts of this condo and its location. You could sit or lay down outside and eat, relax, or read a book with an unbelievable view and all the privacy you could want, as well as being very, very quiet. The condos and resort are very safe...the area is supervised by a security staff 24/7. The resort and condo landscaping is kept up daily. The service from the employees was excellent...I was never bothered by anyone, but just offered service politely. Jose was the concierge who met me when I arrived in the condo and had chips w/guacamole and salsa along with a pitcher of margaritas waiting for me. He had a variety of activities to offer me...fishing, snorkeling, horseback riding, golf etc. There are at least 5 pools on property and I had access to all of them-they are all nice and quiet. I used the internet in the business center to keep up with family and friends and they did not charge me because I was not a hotel guest. I took a walk along the beautiful beach everyday and really enjoyed the beauty of the whole area-unbelievable. The ocean water is warm and nice, but the beach in front of the resort is not the best for swimming because it is not very flat...not a big deal with all the swimming pools. There is a Happy Hour in the bar every night with no charge appetizers. I heard the resort's restaurant is really good, but I did not eat there. I went 10 minutes away from the resort to a very nice grocery store called Mega where I bought all of my food for the week...it was very convenient. There are also local mexican restaurants in the area, as well as U.S. fast food like McDonalds, Subway. There is Cost-Co, Home Depot and a Blockbuster video as well all within driving distance if needed. I booked my accommodations through Diana from Dinamic Rentals and had a good experience with this and hopefully will be able to vacation at Casa Del Mar again.
