Our family of 5 stayed at the Hyatt Ziva this past week. I am a Hyatt Platinum member and had called ahead to let them know my status (we had booked an all-inclusive trip with Air Canada Vacations). When we arrived we were received at the VIP desk and during our visit the guest services people called numerous times to check in on us. The rooms were large, clean and well maintained. Food quality was excellent, including the buffets and restaurants. We were impressed by the variety of offerings. The property was immaculate. Most of all, we were impressed by the staff - everyone from groundskeepers to housekeeping staff to waiters and managers greeted us constantly and offered assistance.

The only note of concern was that towards the end of our week the place filled up due to a number of corporate events; in fact the hotel was at 100% capacity. The events took over large sections of the pool decks, reducing chair space. Also the restaurant staff was stretched to handle the meals for the events and this impacted on the speed of service in the restaurants.

I spoke with the manager at one point during our stay and she commented that they were learning from Hyatt about their standards. My response to her was that Hyatt should be learning about customer service from them - the quality of the staff truly distinguished this property... we will be back!

Room Tip: Building 3 would be best for adults. Be sure to have a balcony with seating... and of course an oce...

We were married at the Hyatt Feb 11, 2014 and were a little worried when our Wedding Coordinator quit a week before the wedding. We had 70 guests, lots of allergies, different arrangements and special requests...not an easy wedding by any means. Our new Wedding Coordinator, Ariadna, took over when we got there and I have to say she was a god send. She made my life so easy and un-stressful that our wedding went off without a hitch. anything I requested she accomplished immediately. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this woman. She is a like having superman as your maid of honor. Highly highly recommend her to anyone thinking of a destination wedding. I never once experienced a second of stress - it is the only way to get married. Thanks Ari !!

Room Tip: If you have a choice of swim up room or honeymoon suite - go honeymoon way more options for liquor...

My wife and I are used to staying in very nice hotels so I am a little jaded. We paid for a premier package with a room next to pool that you could swim up to.
The room was nice size but the furnishing was dated and worn. The bed was not comfortable and we never could get a foam pillow for my wife. I finally went to the MEGA store down the road and purchased one for her.
The property itself was clean and beautiful but it is obvious that Hyatt purchased the hotel from another company and that the structure was built several years ago. One couple told me that they had stayed on this property before, when it had different owners and that Hyatt had not replaced the beds or furniture.
I found that the food was mediocre but edible but not surprised since it is an all inclusive place
I did have a nice time but will upgrade hotels on my next trip to Cabo.

Room Tip: we enjoyed having a swim up room

Please allow me the opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience your experience during your stay. I am sorry that we did not live up to your expectations,We proudly rebranded our resort to Hyatt Ziva on November 1, 2013 and since this change happened we made and are making continues improvements. I can assure you that all points that you lighted up are being changed or trained in order to fulfill all Hyatt standards you are used to and deserves.We would be grateful to have you give us a second chance when your travels bring you to Los Cabos again.

Just got back from 5 days at the Hyatt Ziva. We met up with another couple. We are platinum Hyatt members. They still do not quite have that down yet but Esteban at check in was kind enough to honor our request to be in Building 3 top floor. Our rooms had amazing views. The drinks at the Adult pool were great (ask for Manuel) and the International buffet was very good. The specialty restaurants were good, not great. The Tappanaki steak house was the best of the bunch that we tried (french, Spanish and Japanese). The one on the beach (Coral) was closed the entire time we there. The entertainment was kind of corny (cruise ship like, Carnival not Seaborn) Would not do the transfers (Epic transport) we got ripped off because they could not find the reservation and made us pay again. The Martini bar before dinner is a MUST!!!! Staff was nice, room was terrific. Overall very relaxing. Could hear the ocean at night while we were sleeping. Had the balcony door open.

Room Tip: Building 3 top floors offer best views!

Did you tried our Chocolota Martini or the Banana Martini? those are one of the fovorites. We spent a week at Ziva in mid January. The resort was only about 30% occupied so it was like having our own resort.

Our room was beautiful with views of the ocean and sunrises. We were in building 3 room. Our room looked out over the main pool.

The food was good, our favorite ala cartes were Italian, japanese and French. The martini bar was a great place to start each evening.
Lunch at Seaside provided great views of the ocean. Another great lunch was the shrimp tacos at the poolside cafe.

Beautiful location, employees and property. We would definitely go again!

Claudia, David, Hugo, & Luis gave us VIP service our entire trip! The property is beautiful and spotless. There are a number of nice pools with a view of the ocean. They provide service poolside & on the beach. Our room was very large with a good size balcony. They serve a variety of quality food and alcohol at several locations throughout the property. You can walk off the food with a trip into town (20 min by foot). The town of San Jose Del Cabo is clean, has great shops, galleries & restaurants & super friendly people.
We had a fun vacation here & were very happy with our choice!

This hotel was wonderful!! The first glance of the beautiful property could take your breath away. The lobby framed the pools and ocean perfectly. The staff at the location was exceptional! Very friendly and always willing to help, they are there to insure you have a great vacation! The food was delicious, being an all inclusive I was concerned, but they exceeded my expectations. They had many restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Japanese, French, Seafood, a Steak house, snack shops and buffets. The pools were refreshing, well-kept and the wait staff was always at your beckon call. The rooms had wonderful views and were spacious and clean. I recommend staying on higher floors to get a better view over the palm trees. I am looking forward to playing another vacation there!

Room Tip: As for a room on the 5th floor or higher.. Best views ;)
