“Fantastic place to stay and play!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This place was amazing!! Everyone in the resort makes you feel important. Everyone is extremely friendly and are always asking if there is anything you need. Went here on our honeymoon but can't wait to come back with our kids. Very family oriented but still has adult only things to do if you don't want to be around kiddos. Loved that this was not in Cabo San Lucas but instead about 30 min away in less touristy San Jose Del Cabo. We went fishing and when we got back to the resort they packaged and froze our fish for us so we could take some back home. Dinners in Marco Polo and Panchos were sooo good!! We had a great time at this resort and can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Didn't like the "Upgrade" to Ocean View...It was really more of a pool view unless you...

This resort is so clean and well kept. Its a lot smaller than we are used to. Let me start by thanking the entertainment crew....Zoe, Frankie, Jimena, Lorena, Danny Boy, Eric, Ivan, Damien and Neto....you were all fabulous every day at the pool we had a blast and the nighttime entertainment was great. They work such long hours and always have a smile on their faces.
The bar service was superb thanks to Antonio, Lily, Chay, and Alejandro.....we met amazing staff and guests and had such a relaxing week. The pool was great!!!!
The food is not, so do not go here with high expectations...not enough selections and what was available was not very good. More dining options are needed.
However if u want a smaller resort with great service, a nice pool, and clean....this is a good choice and a great trip for the price.

This was my 3rd trip to Cabo in 2 years. This resort is okay.
I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues - there are too many stairs to the buffet, and no stair rails in most of the areas.
The buffet left alot to be desired. Little choice and food not so great.
Ponchos restaruant was great - enjoyed every meal there.
Maurico was great - looked after us and ensured all our requests were fullfilled.
I agree the pool games, while might be fun for adults, were far to "Sexy" for children - and the children's pool is right next to this pool.
The resort is dated. The shower curtains almost non existant - very slippery when you leave the shower. My message button blinked constantly, and after reporting it 3 times, gave up. I covered it with some paper so I could sleep without it blinking in my face.
The staff are top notch - most accomodating. Each and every one is top notch.
Had a fun time - but would not choose this resort again.

Good :
Location, right on beach, Longer pool, kiddie pool, kids club and water slides etc.All you can eat food, friendly staff, very good theater show every night etc.

Bad:
Corridors inside the hotel are darker, layout of the hotel is not well designed.
Bathrooms in a room are bad design, the area becomes when you shower, the curtains are short and poor quality so water goes out.
Napkin hanger near the bathroom sink is located so low, probably it is designed for a 2 year old occupant.
TV are decade old fashioned CRT type, fuzzy and blurry picture quality
POOL water is not cleaned thoroughly, I saw bread, cheeze and french fries pieces inside the pool almost all days I stayed there.
The resort is family friendly that is what I was told but the live entertainment that they have near the pool has "sex", "sexy" word spoken consistenty, is this what kids under 10 who are in the pool at that time supposed to listen?
Even the games that they have people played there near the pool involved the sexy dance and sexual actions which the guys and gals did, is this what my kids (6 and 8 years old) suposed to see?
The dance time at night around 9-12 near the lobby is horrible, people drink too much and cause problems, break glasses and cause hotel property, dance in a very uncivilized way, again not kid friendly at all.
Activity charges are bigg rip off, almost 120 dollars more for just one activity, the same activity was booked for lesser price (which is common price throughout the city) from the same hotel by another company

This is our third time going back! We love the resort! The staff and service are fantastic. There is a really low staff turnover rate - almost all the same staff from last year were there. Including the cleaning staff. I love to know that the resort treats their staff well - a happy staff makes for a happy guest!
As always, our boys had a great time! Our oldest got to go to the kid's club this time and he didn't want to leave! The women who work in it are fantastic and really enjoy to work with the kids!
We had to attend our time share seminar this year and we wound up with Alberto Beyo (Beto). He was fantastic. He didn't push us but let the resort sell itself. We enjoyed working with him.

The entertainment staff was great, as always. The boys really enjoyed the shows (one had superheroes!).

Our concierge, Mario was great. We know how much he loves his job and he always ensures that we are comfortable and having a good time. We feel comfortable discussing any problems with him and he addresses them right away.

The resort is undergoing some renovations, so it may be a bit noisy at times, but it will be worth it in the end. I don't think they're putting people near the rooms that are being worked on. And if you ended up with one, just call the front desk and they'd be happy to help.

We can't wait to come back again soon!

Room Tip: Rooms that are ocean view mean that you have a view of the pool. View of the pool means that you hea...

We've been to Royal Solaris 2 years in a row and are definitely coming back for a third. Whether you have Kids or not, this is a great overall vacation destination. If you have Children, this is definitely the place to go as it has a great kids park and day program. My Parents stay at a condo down the beach and take our child a few days at a time and so we also experience it as just a couple and really enjoyed it too.

Food: The a la carte restaurants have delicious Italian or Mexican dishes and each of the restaurants have multiple menus on different nights for a variety in selection. We were there when the hotel was pretty much full and didn't have problems booking.... just do it in the morning. You can't expect to walk up at night into a table or get the exact time you want all the time.... call the reservation line in the morning and you won't have a problem. The nightly buffet option is also has a great selection and it's nice a few days of the week to have a buffet dinner and stick around at the same seat to watch the Entertainment Show, which you can do probably 6 days a week..... we pay pretty good money at home for a dinner theatre evening and this is all included here. And don't forget breakfast. A huge selection of any kind of breakfast you want including 2 stations where the sweet little omelette ladies will make you any kind of fresh egg selection you want.... you load up all fresh veggies and meat in a bowl and they fry it up in front of you.

All Inclusive: For the people that say this is not truly all inclusive because two nights cost $55/night..... give your head a shake. They do a special beach cookout for the VIP members and paying patrons twice a week if you want. There is still the same options of a la carte and buffet for everyone these nights, so don't worry about being out of pocket if you want. Every where you go in the travel industry has some sort of special VIP or Gold Member Program.... Heck, I get perks at the Marriott's in Canada and just check out any world wide airline and hotel for these programs..... you won't find any that don't reward their perennial repeat customers with something. We certainly didn't feel left out and instead enjoyed watching the Tiki Dancers from our balcony.... free of charge!!!

Entertainment and amenities: If you have kids, this is the best place in Cabo. The Kids park and pools are great.... and if you don't have kids and want a tamer time, the kids park is completely separated from the main pools and there's a nice and peaceful adults only area beach front for you. The shows are entertaining. If you've been on cruises and have taken in the evening theatre dance and entertainment productions, this is comparable.... with plenty of interactive humor thrown in.

Drinks: Drinks are plentiful and available whenever you want. There's no shortage of premium booze or strong pours..... just ask for it if that's what your looking for and you'll always get it..... and don't be stingy.... give your regular bartender at the bar you frequent the most a tip..... he'll remember you ;-)

Staff: Staff were nothing but friendly and the front desk staff were helpful and courteous.... especially Emmanuel the Reception Manager, who bent over backwards corresponding with us prior to coming to secure our special needs and upgrade

Value for Money: Lets face it. You're not paying $1000/night per person for a Sandals vacation. You get what you pay for and more in an affordable beach front paradise. Overall, I recommend it to anyone and recommend one more thing...... choose your attitude. Wake up in the morning and expect a good time and you'll find it.
