7 day getaway for the x-mas holiday. condo# 212 was clean, decorated well, great H20 pressure. washer, dryer ,dish washer, private pool for the condos.Sunrise is directly at the balcony Main pool/ hot tub at the hotel.Kitchen was stocked with acceptable tools of the trade.. coffee grinder revereware pots, nice place settings. well staffed and attentive hospitality and security. There is a farmers mke weekly in town and the MEGA mart is a short walk. our favoriet restaurant was close too!! called "Cynthia Fresh" courtyard seating. from the Mega parking lot walk to the top of the hill if you face the highway with the mega mart behind you go left towards Cabo st lucas. Look for the large carrot banner next to the antique shop. large selection of daily specials. Cynthia combines Mex and Italian cuisine and is a proper cook.. walk up the beach away from cabo st lux to see a beautifull estuary lots of shore birds. Fishing in Cabo St lucas.. go there to the marina at the mall... look for the boat you like.. find one thats flying lots of fish release flags.. deal direct w/ captian.. for us6 Marlin. panga fishing available too. enjoy

Las Mananitas is an absolutely wonderful place to stay in Cabo San Jose. My family and I take have taken a vacation to Los Cabos every year for 5 years now and Las Mananitas is by far our first choice.

Pros: The condos are very clean, comfortable and very spacious. Also, there is a supermarket very close by which makes it convenient to get groceries and use the kitchen for meals, if desired. The premises are very quite during the day, outside of kids playing games in the pool - which doesn't really even disrupt the serenity of the oceans views and calm atmosphere of the hotel itself. Finally, the town of San Jose is only a 5 minute cab ride and is charming. There are wonderful places to eat, as well as gift shops galore.

Cons: Las Mananitas is about a 40 minute drive from San Lucas, and the taxi will cost 35 USD each way so if you plan on doing the party scene, you might want to stay closer to San Lucas.

We spent our Thanksgiving holiday at Las Maninitas Condos in San Jose del Cabo 11.17.2007 to 11.24.2007. We booked our trip with Gail at Nash Properties and found our accomodations to be excellent. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on the 3rd floor of phase 1 for approximately $275 per day. The condo was clean and the furnishings new, the complex is non-smoking so it suited our needs very well. The pool complex is very well maintained and beautiful the views of the beach stunning. We did swim in the ocean and encountered minimal undertow and waves. If there was any down side it was the lack of direction since there is not a guest services guide to help with booking fishing trips etc. I would suggest you ask Gail to set this up before arriving in San Jose. Great views, great town, great eateries, highly suggest if for your next vacation. You must rent a car and this can be tricky we rented with Thrifty and felt a bit abused by the process.
Enjoy!

Las Mananitas is a stunning property on a stunning beach. We had a 2-bedroom condo overlooking the water. Everything about it was clean, modern, and wonderful.

Fantastic sunrises, warm weather, great pools and hot tub, a beautiful workout room, we lounged around a did alot less than we thought we would - just relaxing was great.

Big pluses - the "Mega", a very large modern supermarket, is about a 3-minute drive away. Las Mananitas is not a timeshare, although many units are rented out by their owners for weeks, so it's a more laid back, less party-type place.

Be aware that this is a condo complex, not a hotel, so there are few hotel-type amenities - ie. no restaurant on site, no bars, no gift shop. However, this is NOT a hotel room in any way - it's a fully-furnished apartment with kitchen, laundry, etc.

Also be aware that Cabo San Lucas is about 20 miles away (on a well-paved highway) and downtown San Jose Del Cabo is about 2 miles away. Cabo San Lucas is very highly touristy while San Jose Del Cabo has a smaller tourist core (lots of galleries and restaurants) surrounded by a real Mexican town.

Prices in both CSL and SJdC are very high by Mexican standards - meal prices compare to restaurants in San Francisco, while grocery prices are maybe 30% lower than here. That being said, the restaurants we experienced were very good and in many cases excellent. There are plenty of genuine local restaurants where dinner is only a few dollars though some Americans would not feel comfortable eating in them.

Also, CSL has all of the tourist kitsch you would expect, while SJdC is more laid back and has higher-end art, less in the way of t-shirts, etc. Even though their lifeblood is American tourists, many of the shopkeepers speak little or no English. However, everyone I met, without exception, was friendly and helpful. Of course any area will have its jerks but I can honestly say that I didn't meet even one of them.

Finally, when picking a location, be aware that the beaches in the Cabo area vary substantially in their swim-ability, ranging from great to dangerous. The beach in front of Las Mananitas is not a good swimming beach, but you'll see horseback riders, strollers, and even sea turtles at the right time of year.

Just wanted to let people know what a great value las mananitas was. beautifully landscaped...Rented a condo through the owner online...1900 sq feet, 2 bed 2 bath. Plenty of room for famiy of 5. Condo was on ground floor so we walked right out to pool/beach. Condo had everything you could want.. washer/dryer, satellite tv...fully stocked kitchen. within walking distance to mega food store. onsite activities center helped with excursions. Rented a car to take us to cabo, san jose, and snorkling beaches. Cost was much cheaper than staying at a comparably located and appointed hotel. Would highly recommend this for other families and anyone wanting space and comfort in a beautiful setting.

This was our first trip to Los Cabos, and it did not disappoint. We have travelled pretty extensively: Hong Kong, Thailand, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Martin, St. Barts, but this was our first trip to Mexico. We loved it! So far, Los Cabos is our favorite destination. Our accomodations were upscale, the locals were friendly, we felt safe, and the food was amazing!

We travelled with 2 other adult couples and without children. We are all friends in our mid-thirties, so we did not mind the prospect of staying together in the same place. We booked Las Mananitas penthouse 3603. The pictures on the internet were beautiful (please see [--] or [--], search "las mananitas penthouse 3603"). We were worried that the pictures would be better than what we would actually find, but we were wrong!

It was beautiful and spacious, at least 3600 square feet, with a rooftop terrace accessed by a spiral staircase with hot tub and sun deck. There were three large bedrooms, three baths, a huge great room with 42 inch flat-screen TV, DirecTV satellite service, iPod docking speakers, cream suede couches, dining table both in the great room and on the terrace to seat 6 people, a gourmet kitchen, and Vonage phone service, so we were able to call the States for free using Voice-Over-Internet to check on our children several times a day. The great room had a large, extended sliding glass door that opened the reveal a 20+ foot opening onto our terrace that more or less ran the length of the condo. We spent $850 per night for less than $300 per night per couple. It was worth every penny. We checked on real estate prices while we were there, and the condo one floor below us without a rooftop terrace (we were on the top floor) was selling at $1.65 million USD, so we estimated ours to be worth at least $2 million USD.

We went from Jan 8-15th in 2007. The grounds and condo were immaculately maintained with maid service daily at no extra charge, and she cleaned for about 3 hours per day. The view from the terrace was unbeatable...the terrace is huge! The pools were wonderful, although a little cold, but hey, it was January.

The complex is beachfront and within walking distance of Mega, a "super Walmart" or "super Target". The produce was amazing! We cooked for two nights, every breakfast, and several lunches with the amazing foods we were able to buy. We did rent a minivan, which I think is a must, given that the resort is in San Jose Del Cabo. We drove to Cabo San Lucas for 3 days of our 6 day trip: twice for dinner and once for a whale-watching excursion.

As for any downsides: well, it is in San Jose Del Cabo, which is much quieter and less tourst-y than Cabo San Lucas. If you want to shop your day away and walk to several restaurants, this is not the place for you. We also missed not having a bar on site to spend the day at the pool with cocktails. We brought our own. However, if you are looking for a quiet, immaculately maintained, and extremely upscale accomodation right on the beach, this is for you.

In Cabo San Lucas, we really enjoyed 2 dinners: one at the Office right on the beach, and one at Mi Casa on the west-side of town. The Office cannot be beaten for ambiance...the tables are brightly decorated, and in 3-4 inches of sand right on Medano beach in the heart of town. We watched a cruise ship leave port and a beautiful sunset sky. It was expensive...the most expensive entree was $74 per person, but there were entrees available for $20-50 USD range. The service was fast and attentive. It was experience not to be missed, although I suspect that breakfast and lunch are far less expensive.

Mi Casa was completely different. It was more moderately priced at $20-30 USD for the most expensive entrees. Do not let the outside appearance discourage you from going in! It is in town without a water view, but is partially open air. The mexican fare was excellent and upscale...we base our good experiences with restaurants by whether or not we could have made what was on the menu (we all like to cook!), and we certainly could not have made the hand-made tamales, sopas appetizers, mole, and stuffed peppers with a walnut-cream sauce as well as we had eaten. The food was fast, the waitstaff attentive, and the table-side musicians (and clown, yes, I wish my children were there) were better than we had experienced at the far more expensive Office.

As far as excursions go, we did the Baja ATV trip through MotoSol and the whale-watching experience through Pez Gato catamaran. We cut our ATV trip short because one of the wives was pregnant, and the experience was far too rough for her. It was also about an hour north of Los Cabos from our condo, which we did not expect, either. The MotoSol staff, however, went over and beyond by taking us home over an hour and a half earlier than we would have expected while we waiting on the rest of the tourist group to finish. It was just another example of how nice the locals were on our trip. As for Pez Gato, we cannot recommend this excursion more. We saw many whales on our trip out, and were in the comfortable shade of our catamaran for the trip. In addition, our crew showed some restraint at getting too close to the whales, for which I cannot say for many of the smaller, faster excursion boats we saw out there. The larger boats just cannot get close enough.

This was our favorite vacation, hands-down, and I hope that this review provides some business for Las Mananitas, at least penthouse 3603!

Absolutely beautiful!!! We have stayed there several times and it gets better every time! The new health club and tennis courts are great. The resort is perfectly located to take advantage of Old Town San Jose, The "Corridor" and Cabo San Lucas for the more adventurous.

The pools are fabulous and the beach is breathtaking. There are more “exclusive/expensive” places to stay, but this is by far the best all around place to stay. Visit Palmilla, Esperanza and Las Ventanas, but come home to beautiful and serene Las Mananitas.
