Great Seafood tacos and tostadas. The restaurant is most seafood based and all small plate foods although they have full plate dinners also.

Their Ceviche is really good and their shrimp tacos are excellent. My daughter had the crab tostadas and said they were to die for.

The place itself is definitely not geared towards the Tommy Bahama wearing tourists as its a locals favorite...No English spoken here, be ready for that. To be fair...at least not on that night. Even with that exception the service was OUTSTANDING and accommodating to our worse than broken Spanish.

When you pull up to the place or your taxi drops you off here, DO NOT start screaming at your driver to hurry up and drive away, it is Mexico, not the drive up window at the local Kentucky Fried-Pizza-Bell. Park and walk in and you will have the time of your life. Don't eat and run, spend some time and take in what the locals do to enjoy a night out. Saturday is a big family night out in Mexico so the place will be packed if you go on this night as we did.

To be fair to all tourists including myself, I did stick with bottled beer, not out of fear of this particular restaurant but of the Mexican water system in general. I will say that I had margarita's at many other places during our stay with no adverse effects so I don't believe I would have gotten that here either...I will say that our Pacifico beers never tasted that good though with our tacos.

This restaurant is a bit further out of mainstream down town Cabo so take a taxi or drive there. The taxi will wait for you if you ask them or the waiters will call you one.

This is the restaurant you always say...."I don't want to go where all the tourists go"....so go here and you'll see why its so popular with the locals.

As a recent viewer wrote, the setting is not quite 4 star. You sit under a tarp, on plastic chairs, on a dirt floor, basically in a parking lot, serenaded by an old female dog with udders touching the floor as she walked, too lethargic to bark, with a customer-base that is almost entirely local, many of whom work at or near the airport. Most were NOT slim BTW. The food was wonderful, gracefully and quickly served. I enjoyed scallops and Katherine the shrimp cilantro. Purchase the bottled water! Entire meal cost less than $25 including the water, and despite a rather long walk from the bus stop it was well worth the ordeal. Thanks to our Hilton waiter Roger for recommending this fine establishment!

After seeing this place on Rick Bayless' TV show, we had to go. The seafood quality was excellent. Service was great. Good value. From the outside a non-local may never drive up the hill on the dirt road, but you should. They take credit cards. We had marlin appetizer, shrimp, and octopus. The only criticisms I have are:
1. The tortilla chips they use for a table snack with salsa come in little plastic bags, as they buy them not make them.
2. The dinner entres all come with a standard set of sides - rice, mashed potatoes, and salad. These items were mediocre, and we skipped them. The seafood is the star here.
We would definately go again.

When our hotel concierge recommended El Toro Guero we were a little hesitant. After all, anything with the name "guero" in it couldn't be too authentic. Nothing could have been farther from the truth. We went by bus--we like to travel with the people and immerse ourselves in the culture when it is safe to do so. We visited the San Jose restaurant close to the airport. It is right off the main highway and requires less walking even if it's farther than the others. There were no tourists there at all, just Mexican families out for a good time and an affordable feast. We had oysters, shrimp, fried fish, and beers for less than $30. It was the best and cheapest meal we had on our trip.

If you want something fancy with a sea view, this is not the place. The floor is covered with sawdust and the tables and chairs are plastic. There are no cloth napkins or fancy silverware. It's the basics with a friendly Mexican atmosphere and great service.

Love this place the food, staff and atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommended this place for real local food with flavor instead of the bland hotel food.
