Let me start by saying the only reason I give this hotel 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because of the size and the amount of people at the pool. It is a big hotel and seems everyone is at the pools. The hotel itself is beautiful and appears brand new. All the rooms have impeccable furnishing and ocean views. The restaurants at the hotel have a nice variety. There is a Mexican restaurant, a sushi bar, a poolside grill with American and Mexican fare along with brick oven pizzas and then a more formal Italian restaurant. We only left the hotel once for dinner and enjoyed every meal at the hotel. I read some reviews which complained about the prices of the meals but honestly, anywhere you travel you are going to spend $50 for lunch unless you do fast food. What you get is fresh and worth the money! I also saw you can get free coffee and bottled water which I thought was really nice. What really sets this hotel apart is the service. Before we arrived, the concierge sent us a note asking if we were celebrating any special occasions and if we needed transportation from the airport. We told them it was our anniversary and offered us ways to celebrate the occation. They suggested a beachide dinner at sunset. It was spectaculiar with tiki torches and candles. They left a bottle of wine in our room along with some desserts and a note that said 'Happy Anniversary". We took advantage of the spa and enjoyed an 80 minute massage. It was wonderful. Everyone at the hotel was friendly accomodating and seemed eager to please. This hotel is run better than most 5 star hotels we have stayed at. We stayed in room 4011 which is over 1,000 square feet. We stayed at Las Ventanas on our last trip and while it is a little quieter, this hotel was less expensive and had a nicer beach in our opinion. We also liked the fact that we were there as a couple but there were children there. We plan to come back and bring our son. Highly recommended. I would not stay anywhere else. The accomodations, the food, the service and attention to detail was superb!

Room Tip: I doubt there is a bad room here. We stayed in 4011, a Premier suite and it was amazing with 2 bathr...

I truley have nothing negative to say about the Hilton facilities, in fact all of the resorts I visited in Cabos are great - the issue (s) I had were the constant ways the staff went out of their way to charge for everything. I realize its Mexico and tipping is a constant, but its not the tipping, but charging a cup of coffee, no newspapers, premium pricing for all food, booze, cabs to town, etc.
The other major issue was the lack of ethics on the timeshare solicitors at the Hotel. You would think they would limit timeshare salespeople on their own grounds, but I got solicited for Hilton timeshare on their property.
The Hilton is a nice property, but I wish I stayed somewhere like the Pueblo Sunset or Pacifica.

Room Tip: The hallway is very noisey on the 3rd floor. Try to get another area if you want quiet sleep!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a few words about your stay. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our facilities - however, we are concerned that you felt some of the costs were out of line with your expectation. We appreciate your comments and will keep them in mind as we continue to improve. We work very hard to ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful experience, and are disappointed when we deliver anything less. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention and we would love to have you back. If you would like to discuss further please contact the hotel directly at Enjoy.LosCabos@hilton.com.

My wife and I came to Los Cabos for a short vacation in between Christmas and New Years. We were looking for a "do nothing" vacation where we could just rest and relax after a busy and tiring fall. And boy did we ever get it. To be honest, we never actually left the resort (which is not like us - we usually enjoy exploring and seeing the sights). We considered going to town or doing some organized excursions but since we only had 5 days and 4 nights, we opted to just stay at the resort. The infinity pool is amazing and beautiful. Photos don't do it justice. And while we had every meal at the resort - we always felt there was a sufficient variety. Also, there were definitely plenty of people there who were regulars. They were recognized by staff and other guests on their first day. That added a nice quality. You had a sense people came back year after year. Around the end of December is pretty warm but never hot. It was sunny on most days which was enough to make it feel like a great getaway. That was fine by us but if you're looking for 80s or 90s, come during another season. One final note and not related to the hotel itself: be wary of the organized taxi or tourist workers at the airport (when you first exit the arrivals area). They tried to get us to book a taxi to and from the hotel in advance with a promise of a full reimbursement and discounts on excursions. After doing some research, it's clearly a time share scam but they of course don't mention that at all. It should be around $45 total to your hotel. And getting a taxi back from the hotel is super easy. No need to reserve in advance.

Great food, fun, and service. Beautiful property. Would recommend to anyone. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The food at the pool side grill was exceptional. The french toast was excellent and I rarely ever eat it. I'd wake-up about 4am and go out on my balcony and listen to the whales that during the day you can't hear. I will return someday. I actually was there in Feb. 2011.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony that is higher than the tops of the palm trees for a great view.

We found this hotel three years ago by reading Tripadvisor reviews. We spent a wonderful week here and loved every minute of it. Since then every time we start talking about where to go on a vacation, the Hilton Los Cabos always comes up. We have never before gone to a destination hotel twice, but now we have. We returned for another wonderful experience last week. Whoever is in charge of training the personnel should get a medal. They are almost uniformly friendly, helpful, and well informed. Jorge in the dining room even remembered us from our last visit three years ago. The rooms are large, very well decorated, and have amazing views. The breakfast buffet is absolutely incredible. For a great lunch or snack try the fish tacos at the Madero swim up bar. We dreamed about them for three years and they were every bit as delicious as we remembered. The Fenicia restaurant on the 1st floor by the pool is a great evening dining experience as well. Also don't miss the La Vista bar with its fantastic views and great appetizers. The main pool is not to be missed. If it sounds like all we did was eat, drink, and lounge by the pool that's not too far off. There are many things to do in the area, but we needed downtime and the Hilton Los Cabos filled the bill in every way. We are now talking about making it an annual visit. This time we made a couple of visits to the Spa and found this to be wonderful as well.

Only a couple of minor negatives. If you are going to travel around the area, consider renting a car, as taxi's are quite pricey. Food and beverages at the Hilton are pricey as well, but no more so than other resort hotels. A minor point, it would be nice to get a few more TV stations such as CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNBC.

Room Tip: We booked an Ocean View room with the option to upgrage to a Jr. Suite if available. We got the Jr...

My husband and I spent Christmas 2012 at the Hilton Los Cabos. The hotel is perhaps the BEST hotel we have ever stayed in -- and we are worldwide, experienced travelers. The service was 5-star, the rooms, restaurants, pools, beach and grounds are all truly fabulous. We don't have a single complaint about anything. Ours was a last-minute trip... we decided to fly to Los Cabos for the first time ever because our 3 grown children were all working or overseas for Christmas. We were both sick with terrible colds, and at the last mintue, we decided to jump on a plane and fly to the Los Cabos. We landed at the Los Cabos Airport, got a taxi directly to the hotel (don't be duped at the airport by the row of men standing behind a long counter after you collect your luggage -- they are there to sell you a package deal: taxi to hotel and fishing trip, taxi to hotel and whale-watching excursion, taxi to hotel and sailboat trip, etc. We figured it out pretty quickly and explained that we needed JUST A TAXI to the Hilton. And we got one, no problem. Overall, everyone was very polite and professional at the airport and at the hotel. Upon our arrival at the Hilton, we were personally greeted by name by the hotel staff as we stepped out of our taxi. We were whisked past the pretty fountains at the hotel entrance, offered an arrival drink (which was delicious), and taken directly to our room. NO WAITING IN LINE TO CHECK IN! It was great! Our spotless, incredibly quiet, comfortable room with balcony overlooked the main pool and the beach. Everything was perfect... the bed was lovely, the maid service was truly excellent (our maid created a different towel sculpture for our bed each day: dinosaur, elephant, etc), room service for meals was quick and delicious. If we called the front desk and requested that our room be cleaned while we were downstairs having breakfast, then it was clean when we got back from breakfast. If we asked for extra towels, they were there in a flash. We ate dinner in the hotel's stunning bar one night... musicians strummed their guitars for us and we ate the local sea bass, which was amazing. All of the hotel's restaurants are excellent, as is the tiny shop/cafe hidden away in a corner of the hotel that sells inexpensive, fresh made coffee, tea, soda, liquor, sandwiches, desserts, etc. The hotel's huge, beautiful pools are heated and the pina coladas, margaritas, etc. at the swim-up bars and throughout the resort are excellent. There is a large infinity pool directly behind the hotel, and another quieter pool at the far end of the hotel, but it's partly shaded in the afternoon. We spent most of our time on the beach, but did enjoy the quieter, shady pool as well. A very talented group of mariachis serenaded us at the pool one day and we watched as a group of small children took turns trying to break open a big, candy-filled pinata at the hotel's Kids Club area one afternoon. The beach is spectacular and the water is warm and crystal-clear. Despite "red flag" warnings (I'm not sure why) everyone was swimming. The undertow was a bit strong, but there is a rock jetty at one end of the beach that is quite protective, and we swam there. The waves were a bit smaller near that protective jetty and it was easier to get in and out of the water there. Just watch out for outgoing/incoming jet skiers, kayakers and snorkelers in the water at that same spot. On our first day there, we watched a pod of whales jumping and spraying from our beach lounges. It was an incredible sight. We met hotel guests from Connecticut, Canada, etc. who spent hours laughing and body-surfing in the waves. The hotel waiters on the beach were also excellent, happily and expertly serving us delicious meals and drinks on the beach. There are local beach vendors selling beach bags, hats, handmade jewelry, etc. -- they were all very nice and actually made our day more interesting on the beach... as did the horseback riders. My most memorable part of our stay at the Los Cabos Hilton was the small, lovely nativity scene that was displayed on a central table in the breakfast restaurant each morning on the days leading up to Christmas. The manger was empty until Christmas morning, when baby Jesus finally appeared. I felt sad that the wait staff had to work on Christmas Day, but their joy was overwhelming and we and our fellow hotel guests felt so much love and excitement coming from the entire staff on Christmas Day -- it was incredible. What more can I say? Just this: if you want a peaceful, relaxing, restful vacation in an elegant, setting of excellence, then the Hilton Los Cabos is the place. My husband and I are just sorry we didn't discover this place when it was first built -- we could have brought our children (who are now all grown and working/living elsewhere) here for some memorable vacations. Perhaps we can organize a family reunion here for us, our children and our grandchildren. To the entire staff of the Hilton Los Cabos: we say THANK YOU for such a magical Christmas at your outstanding hotel.
