This was our second year in a row to attend a conference here in February. What a great escape! The resort is impeccable, the service across the resort is great, and the food first class. The pool and beach areas are perfect with lots of seats. One caveat, people stake out their chairs early in the day, but there are generally seats up until 10:30 or so, just maybe not in prime areas. Overall, I put this as the best resort I have stayed at.

Since we are Hilton Honor Gold members, we chose to use our points to stay at this amazing property from 2/11/12 to 2/18/12. We booked our private transportation to & from the Hilton through amstardmc.com. Loved the Hilton's pomegranate margarita welcome drink. We were assigned to Room 4086. Enjoyed the afternoon sun on our balcony. Twice daily maid service was a bonus. On the evening of Valentine's day, we were able to watch fireworks from a neighboring property, from our balcony. By opening the shutters in our bathroom, we had a partial beachview, even from the shower! The pools were amazing & the temperature of the water was perfect. We were able to see whales every day from our lounge chairs. The pool beds were a treat. Nice beach to walk, it was fun seeing the horses on the beach. Service provided by the employees at this resort was incredible. Pool & beach service was provided, we ate at all the restaurants, plus bought sandwiches & salads from the deli, a few times. The concierge desk employees did a fantastic job. They booked our Glass Bottom Boat tour to the Cabo Arch & dinner out to a neighboring resort. We would highly recommend this beautiful resort with top notch service.

Room Tip: Wish we would have upgraded our room to a better location. We heard the hum of air conditioners from our balcony.

We always checked on Tripadvisor before booking any hotel and truly value the input other reviewers put in this site. We just returned from cabo san lucas with family of four for 8 nights/9 days. We stayed 3 nights in Hilton Los Gabos Beach & Golf Resort, 3 nights in Welk Resorts Sirena Del Mar, and 2 nights in Capella Pedregal based on TA’s recommendation and would like to share some of our thoughts.
We paid $311/night for Hilton, $278/night for Welk, $750/night for Capella. Based on our experience with these hotels, we would like to rank them as:
#1: Hilton
#2: Welk
#3: Capella
You can go to each hotel and see our reviews of them. But this is what we thought about Hilton:
The good:
- We got an ocean view room 60 and it has a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. You can sit on your balcony to watch the whale off the shore all morning
- Maid service is the BEST in this place. They come twice a day, one in the morning, one late in the afternoon. Room is nicely cleaned by 9-9:30am every day. Plenty of towel and supplies were re-stored in the bathroom. They came late in the afternoon to make the bed and leave sweet treats on the bed. Capella’s maid service is nothing close to Hilton’s standard! We were extremely happy about the maid service in this hotel
- Very big heated pool with warm water. Kids can’t wait to go swim every day. Some reviewers complained about the number of kids in this hotel. However, I don’t see overwhelming amount of kids during our stay. Children don’t bother us unless they were crying, screaming and running around but we have not seen any of that during our stay.
- Plenty of pool towels everywhere. Hotel guests did leave their towel and personal item on the beach chair to hold their spot. But the staff cleaned up unused chairs once a while so we didn’t have trouble finding a chair to rest next to the pool in the middle of the day
- Food is decent. Breakfast buffet has variety of selections
- Horse riding vendors are conveniently on the beach and the horses are available almost at any time without reservation
The NOT so good:
- The hotel is facing a very windy shore so the room is a little bit chilly in the middle of the night. Temperature control does not heat up the room
- Restaurant service is SLOW. It took forever for them to serve the food.
- Food is pricy in this hotel. A breakfast buffet for one adult and one child is $50 US dollars. Regular dinner cost more than $100 US dollar per night for two persons. We drove to the supermarket up north called “Mega” and shop for the milk, chips, salsa and personal supplies.
- Vendors on the beach trying to sell stuffs to the hotel guests. Once you shook your head, they walked away so it was not that bad
- Beach is a little bit rocky with none swimmable ocean waves so we didn’t have much of the beach time
Overall, it was a good stay and we gave 4 stars of this place.

Room Tip: higher floor gives good views

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I have have stayed in many hotels and notice all the details, this property is as close to perfect as I have seen, Not only are all the rooms superb, the entire staff is willing and ready to help all their guests anytime and could not be freindlier, It appears that everyone works as a team and it shows with the entire staff. I will be going back in a few months. Others Hilton properities should visit this hotel to learn about legendary service and attention to details. If I could change anything about this hotel it would be nothing

Our 2 teenagers and I returned from Australia for 11 days to this wonderful resort in January. We stayed in a junior suite with adjoining deluxe room for our children. I was concerned returning because we loved it so much time last time I thought it could not meet the expectations. I shouldnt have given it a second thought. We opened the doors to our room and it was decorated for my birthday helium balloons,cake champagne etc. The service the whole time could not be faulted and it was effortless in its execution. Jorge and the team around the pool were so friendly,cleaning our sunglasses ,bringing ice etc. Plenty of towels and beautiful cabanas and plenty of chairs everywhere at that time of the year.The food at the breakfast buffet was sensational (so hard not to eat too much!!) the charcoal grills,tacos,thin crust pizzas sushi etc around the pool were addictive.We ate out every night except twice and we ate at Fenicia italian restataunt in the resort which was superb.
Hilton is such a great spot with miles of beach to walk along either way. Great location in the middle of both towns but is closer to San Jose.
The hotel is spotless and every wish was catered for.
The outside hot spas as the weather cooled at night were sensational followed by a night swim.The gym was clean and had all sorts of equipment.
I would not hesitate to go again. Best resort hands down.
