Traveled to San Jose del Cabo for a wedding of 2 dear friends in March 2012 and had an amazing time. Our room was large (a junior suite) and plenty spacious for the 2 of us and our 2 year old son. OUr view wasn't the best (partial ocean view) but the lanai was nice. Service was good - a couple missteps and delays with the poolside and beachside service but no big deal. Quiet, great surfing, beautiful views and pools. A nice deviation from the giant all-inclusive resort. Incredible fish tacos at the restaurant as well. Fantastic location for a wedding. Hoping to go back soon.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the north end of the property, 2nd floor - recently renovated area and sliding doors open directly to the ocean

Great hotel, great location, great staff, great restaurant. Definately upgrade from the standards rooms. Costs a bit more but the views are just amazing. The maid service was amazing too!

We just loved the restuarant for everything. Great pools, Place is not too big. You would have to be dead not to love this place!

Taxis are expensive to Cabo...about $35 each way. If you do not like the crowds of big hotels, I just cannot say enough about this place. I do not even surf and I loved it!

Room Tip: Definately upgrade to one of better rooms. Slightly more expensive but views to die for.

What a beautiful and panaramic view of the Sea of Cortez!
With so many fabulous patio opportunities within the Cabo vicinity,
The Seven Seas restaurant indoor-outdoor patio became our favourite.
Not that other patios didn't also have spectacular views---The seven
Seas vantage point displayed ideal surfing conditions, tranquil Sea of
Cortez seclusion from the typical resort-row congestion, and a true sense
of seasde privacy. No wonder this location is so popular with weddings and
special occasions---an intimate enviroment.
Staff and service was very gracious--The fish and salad menu was very
fresh--yet had our best burger in Cabo!
The ambience refuses to let you leave!
Our personal Thank you to Senor Mauricio Balderrama for his congenial
hospitality.
This location is a "must" visit..

Room Tip: We did not have time to enjoy the hotel/spa amenities but heard reference to the rooms as very comfortable, roomy and well attended.

My husband and I got married at Cabo Surf Hotel in October 2012 and it truly was our dream wedding.... Butterflies and rainbows, literally! We arrived early in the week to a beautiful rainbow from the recent storm and immediately dined on the first of many delicious meals (the sea bass tacos are amazing!) The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating as we finished last minute details before our guests started to trickle in- Jesus, Hector and Flaudia at the front desk, were particularly helpful. As the week went on our family and friends arrived and filled up the whole hotel. Friday night we had the most delicious tacos and margaritas at our welcome dinner and bonfire on the beach. We are still craving those tacos! Saturday it was amazing to have the whole hotel to ourselves as we enjoyed paddle boarding and hanging at the pool with our guests during the day. Christian was so attentive! He kept the drinks and food flowing to us at both pools. Sunday was our wedding day and everything about it was absolutely amazing for us. Martha, the events coordinator at the hotel, took care of all the details to ensure we had incredible service and quality of food and drinks throughout the weekend, and the wedding was no exception. Our offsite wedding coordinator, Amy Abbott, did an absolutely fabulous job putting together the style I had envisioned. I was stunned at how well she executed what I had articulated to her. Along with her staff, she made our ceremony and reception come together magically. Our photographers, MoHines from Seattle, have already shown us a sneak peak. I can't wait to relive the day through the rest of those photos- there were so many beautiful details, I couldn't soak them all in that day! We keep hearing from our guests that we had one of their favorite "dance parties" thanks to DJ Alex. My husband and I wish we could do it all over again- the whole weekend exceeded our expectations. I cannot imagine a better venue for a wedding. Just as other reviewers have mentioned, I've been hesitant to write this review because I want to keep Cabo Surf our hidden secret. Our family intends to return often as we feel like it is our second home.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have their unique charm from hammocks to private hot tubs to a wall of gorgeous ocean view. We stayed in one of the newer Shore Villas, which we highly recommend.

The Cabo Surf Hotel is an absolutely amazing little in along HWY1 in San Jose. The restaurant Seven Seas is the best restaurant in all of Cabo, hands down. My wife and I stayed for five nights in November and could not have been happier with our selection. Here's the deal however, it has a private beach, beautiful quiet bar, amazing restaurant and incredible surf right on site...if you're the standard over grown spring breaker that comes to Cabo, you'll hate this place. It's not a cheap all inclusive. No one is doing shots of Pucker and the only music you'll find is during the Thursday night "Mexican Night" when live guitarists play an acoustic session for a couple of hours. Ohio State fans, you're out of luck at the Cabo Surf Hotel.

We rented a car because we read some of the reviews about the restaurant being over priced and there's not much to do...big mistake. Two hours in San Lucas was all we needed and we headed back to the hotel. Most restaurants in town are gross, old or cheaply new and over priced. I'd pay 40% more to eat at Seven Seas every meal. The Chef is absolutely incredible. The staff was amazingly friendly and well trained and the menu was perfect.

My wife loved the spa. She got almost all the treatments there and reported that "Nancy" gives an incredible massage. We live in Massage Therapist Capital USA, so that's saying something.

The rooms are perfect. We stayed in #34, but by the looks of it, all of the rooms are basically the same. This is not a giant resort. It's quaint with a lot of attention to detail. The porch looked right out on the private beach and we left the sliding patio doors open all week.

This is truly a gem in an otherwise rough looking town.

Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing
