Description: Over the last year, Don Sanchez Restaurant has “re-defined” itself both in design as well our approach to your fine food and wine experience. Our food, service and quality are consistent with the same standards found in North America as we strive to constantly improve and innovate.Proudly, the majority of our high-quality produce is grown and harvested from local organic farms. Our seafood comes from local fisherman ensuring the best, freshest quality. Fresh oysters and clams are delivered 3 times a week and our fish daily. All of our produce and seafood are environmentally sustainable and checked regularly for consistency. One of our standards is to only serve “grass-fed” beef from Sonora or American choice beef, which is aged to perfection, and consistent with the same processing standards found in the U.S.A. All salt used in Don Sanchez Restaurant is natural un-iodized Sea salt from Guerrero Negro in the Northern Baja Peninsula.

We've been coming to San Jose Del Cabo for the past 5 years and have found this area to be full of excellent dining experiences. Last night, we checked out Don Sanchez in the Historic District and we were blown away. This place is a must on your restaurant tour! The room itself is a surprise, tucked in at the back and very large - you'd never know it exisited. The atmosphere is remonicent a latin club and wouldn't you know, there was an outstanding Cuban Band playing on a stage in front of a dance floor, surronded by dining tables. Very cool. The menu offers a nice variety of options, with the mains highlight on great steaks - and great the were! Sides are extra, and there is an extensive wine selection featuring regional wines. So there we were moving to the latino tunes while sipping an outstanding red from northern Mexico and chowing down on the best steak we've had in a long time. Does it get any better than this? Prices are super reasonable for the value you get and the service was outstanding. Check this place out and spread the word!

“a "new" old favorite... enjoy!”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

we liked don sanchez in it's previous life as a moderately priced spot we could count on for a good meal and a good time. the new don sanchez is a wonderful surprise, and physically, everything about it is different but for the overall idea of good food and good times. where one used to climb stairs to their second floor dining area, you'll enter through the street level wine shop (stop and scope out their broad selection of terrific north baja wines, in addition to other global choices), then descend stairs into a gorgeous, magical grotto with soaring palapa, small stage and dance floor, all surrounded by charming hand-painted tables. very high-quality staff attends to every need, a testament to great hiring and training. this was borne out in two consecutive evening visits, and i hope it stays that way (¡gracias, noel y jose!)... so many cabo spots allow staff to get a bit jaded to the large tourist clientele, and as locals we generally stop going to those places (one of the worst is along the same row of shops as Don Sanchez). the food was always good at the old place, but now the menu has elevated the core concept enormously with an expansive array of new tastes influenced by Mexico, alongside more standard fare. we three were ecstatic with our selections, and are eager to return to try more. along with the elevation in concept, the prices are now higher, but are fair for the quality of dining experience and great preparation. i'm always happy to recommend the good places to people visiting our paradise, and Don Sanchez is definitively on my list of must dines! enjoy!
