“After our fourth stay at the Posada Real, we're already planning our next visit!”
Reviewed March 1, 2011

We just returned from our sixth visit to this area, and we stayed at the Posada Real for the fourth time in a row. The staff is wonderful--smiling, friendly, helpful, and like family. For the entire ten days of our stay, every single staff member we saw smiled and greeted us warmly. Raul, the manager, and Urbano, the assistant manager, went out of their way to reserve our same favorite room for us, welcome us, and make us feel at home. Benito at the pool bar, Ramon in the hotel, Ezekiel, Simon, and the entire staff are the best. We love the laid-back atmosphere, buffet breakfasts in the balcony dining area, walking or horseback riding on the quiet beach, sunbathing and reading by the pool and on the beach.
This is not a rowdy, spring break destination, but a quiet, lovely place with lots of Canadian, European, and Mexican visitors. We like it much better than the high-end places on the corridor where we stayed on our first two visits.
We prefer the "beverages included" option, so we can eat some of our meals in the balcony dining area at the hotel and others in town. Prompt, friendly food and beverage service is available at the bar, in the dining room, at the poolside snack bar, at the swim-up bar, around the pool, and on the beach. On Valentine's Day, each female guest was presented with a decorated, long-stemmed carnation at the dining area. We have enjoyed many restaurants in San Jose, ranging from the beautiful downtown places, such as Jazmin, Tequila, Morgan's, and Morgan's Encore, to the casual Zipper's on the beach, which is an easy walk or a short cab ride from the hotel.
We highly recommend the Posada Real!

We just spent one week at the Posada Real in San Jose Del Cabo and it was a great spot for rest & relaxation. It's a quiet little resort, very low key. They have amazing staff who go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. For a small resort this place has most everything you need. The location is fanatastic, on a beautiful stretch of beach where you can see whales from your beach chair. A waiter will bring you drinks and food right on the beach so you don't even have to get up if you don't want to. We had an all inclusive package and because there are no a la cartes we decided to go off the resort a couple times for dinner just to have a break from the buffet. The buffet food was pretty good though, nothing really to complain about. There are a few really good restaurants just a short walk away though so it was nice to get out and see a little bit of the town. All in all, good value for your money if you want a relaxing get-away in a beautiful setting.

My husband and I just returned from a weeks vacation at the Posada Real. We were slightly worried as we had read some poor reviews. If you go with the expectation that it's a 3 star you won't be disappointed. The resort is aged but well kept. The service is exceptional, maid service, chefs, gardeners, bartenders, front desk etc. etc. they aim to please. We met lots of friendly people while vacationing here. It appears as though most people are frequent vacationers to this resort and I can see why. We loved it and would return. Francisco?? on the beach was exceptionally friendly at getting lunch and drinks for us he really tried hard to please us.

A big thankyou to all the Posada staff for helping to make this a great holiday. The hotel is small and comfortable, a very relaxing and fun week.
The food if limited is very good, and believe me I am somewhat fussy, so to find something every night that i liked and thoroughly enjoyed was a bonus.
I came home relaxed and can't wait for the next holiday.
Thanks to the person that left Kristin Hannah's book, the best book I have ever read!

just got back after a weeks stay at this hotel. I travelled with a girl friend for a quick get - away. We had a wonderful time, the resort is small, so you get to see the same staff who are very helpfull and friendly. We found the buffet adequate,it's small but always found something we liked, they have theme nights...a tip, they have wonderful creamed soups.
The rooms are fine, not fancy, but clean and nice soft pillows.
The beach is lovely but cannot recomend that you swim, the pool area is nice, not too big and they do have waiters that will bring you drinks and food on the beach and at the pool.
The beach cafe has great food ..the the little senorita hardly speaks english, but give her a tip she deserves it.
We went into San Jose to a Thai Restraunt , Baan Thai, its just behind the church, we had some of the best Thai food ever, can recommend the green chicken curry, also the chicken cashew dish. We also went to Zippers on the beach, $5 cab ride, its a rib place the appetiser ribs at $11.00 was plenty.
Hoverall we had a great stay and would not hesitate to go back to this hotel, if its small, friendly and clean, with what I think was good food, this is the place. No its not 4*, but its not a 4* price, its good value for the $'s.

This hotel was better than we had expected, the staff are very friendly. The rooms, restraunt were very clean. The food was perfect every night always full when we left. It was always a buffet style each meal with lots to choose from. The hotel itself was very quiet and relaxing. No loud music or people partying late at night. ( if you are looking for a party resort than this isnt for you) Staff on the beach were quick with the drinks and you didnt have to wait at all. The beach was beautiful nice white sand no jelly fish. The hotel is within walking distance to a huge mega store wich was like a walmart. 5 min walk, where they had a scotia bank, hsbc and starbucks. To walk into town was a 25 min walk but lots to see on the way there. Very safe area very friendly locals. Go to shooters bar when you are there $1 a beer (owned by a canadian) Every night the hotel had some sort of show in the lobby by the bar something different every night. If you want to do lots of shopping or partying you can take a bus to cabo st lucas (25 min) bus ride there (very safe did it a few times) bus stop right by the mega they make sure you are taking the right one before you get on. There is a huge marina there with everything you could want to do. The staff at posada real are amazing, very friendly and do not bother you for tips. We would tip at every meal and on the beach. Rooms were clean as well as the hotel even the out door bathrooms were cleaned every morning and during the day. The pool was clean and had an amazing swim up bar. We didnt want to leave this resort!! I have nothing bad to say about this place it was an amazing experience!!

Bar staff, cleaning ladies, waiters are top notch, too bad one ASSistant manager ruined the experience. We were not the only ones who felt the same way. Only other complaint is their wireless is awful.
