Front Desk Staff - very courteous, friendly and accommodating. Kudos to David and Danny.
Accommodations - Basic, clean, well-serviced hotel rooms. Lots of hot water. Ocean view. Maid friendly, trustworthy and reliable. Beds are very firm.
Food - Plentiful, lots of veggies and healthy options. Healthy taco bar at lunch. Good grilled mahi-mahi. Serving staff were highly attentive.
Recreation - New bikes available for morning bike tours with Oscar. Daily tennis (free!) clinic with fabulous professional coach, Luis. Thank you so much Luis!
Environment - beautiful gardens and clean surrounds. The ocean in front of the resort is too dangerous for swimming, however, we were aware of that before we went. Enjoyed watching the whales.
(All that needs improving in this resort would be if the shows were spruced up, and the creation of a dancing space and sound system. However, Mariachi Band on Wednesday night was great!)
NOTE: My fellow Canadian tourists need to be considerate and tip more.

Room Tip: Book an ocean view.

The hotel is well located within the town and is right by the beach. It is all-inclusive, which is an option that we prefer to have when traveling to a beach resort. The place invites you to relax and enjoy the beautiful coastline scape. Swimming in the sea is not allow (we didn't find out why) but there are several swimming pools. The room was comfortable, everything working. I was happy to see that they have a coffee maker. The personnel was friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of drinks. there were two problems. One was the lack of programmed activities for the guests. There were a few, bur uninspired and they always finish a 4 pm! (for many of us during our vacation we want to do "stuff" also later than that. Except for a couple of times a week, there were no shows (unlike other all-inclusive resorts that we visit before). The gym is minuscule. The worst was the food. the cooking wasn't a disaster, but it was boring, just the same everyday. Thanks God we only stay 3 days, because we would have had to go somewhere else and pay, which would have void a mayor point of a all-inclusive hotel!

The resort is in Cabo San Jose which we didn't know until we arrived at the airport that the beaches are not usable due to rocks and dangerous waves. The food was boring as there are only a couple of restaurants at the resort. The pools decent and they have swim up bars which are nice. No nightlife and bars close early. Super pushy staff trying to sell time shares but they make sure they say that it's not a time share. They were ridiculously pushy. Rooms are clean and decent. I got a good deal so it was worth it. We stayed a couple extra days but changed to the Royal Solaris as we were ready to leave.

Chose this resort due to its proximity to Marina Puerto Los Cabo where I needed to board a boat in early morning on the following day. As I was new to the area, I was thinking staying in a all-inclusive resort would save me time from finding food outside. I totally regretted because the food I had was horrible.

I first had some snacks by the pool side. The hamburgers and hot dogs were squashy. Presentation was awful.

For dinner, one restaurant was closed for operation. Another one was closed for private party. So all guests were crowded in an outlet on the beach for Mexican food. The arrangement was messy. With hundreds of guests in the hotel, there was just one long serving table so it took 40 minutes plus to get some food. Serving plates were messy after so many guests selected the food. No staff bothered to clean the area. Despite the high room rate I paid for the night, I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria!

In the morning, I planned to grab a quick breakfast before heading to the marina. The night before, I was told by the guest relations staff that breakfast would start at 7 am. But when I arrived at the outdoor outlet, the staff told me breakfast would start at 8 am only. In the end, I needed to "steal" some fruit and bread rolls quietly.

Spend one night, celebrating our anniversary. It was a great experience. Staff are friendly, courteous, and just pleasant. Only negative thing dinner at the terrace, has a waiting list. Which was the only down side. We waited for about 35 min and had to stay on top of the hostess or she'll pass your room # by. But, our dinner was delicious and it pay out. We arrived two hours before check in time and were so glad are room was ready. Had no problem checking in, fast easy and nice staff. We enjoyed our king bed, room nice and clean, third floor nice palms and pool view. I requested the third floor and had no problem. But I after seeing that all first floors have their own hammock right in front I was like, darn it! But we still took advantage of the hammock by the beach, very close to the lunch restaurant. After dinner went to the Cantina. Mariachi guys were FUN, funny and just made it a great night. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: If you want your own hammock, request a first floor room. But you may have to deal with some of the...

We chose this hotel because of the location, after reading the reviews on here and because they had an oceanfront lanai king bed available at the point of reservation. After arriving at the hotel and waiting in the lengthy line up for room assignment we discover that they didn't have the room available that we booked. Night 1 was spent in a poolside double bed room, with the promise that our room would be available the next day. Next day came around and no room. After a lengthy go around with Sun Wing (the company we booked the vacation through), and the hotel it turned out that there were very few choices available and we had to choose our needs over the wants (at least we were going to sleep in the same bed on night 2).
We resolved ourselves to settling into another poolside room ( with a king bed this time), albeit with only 3 small pillows - I called the front desk to ask for some more and the lady at the front said 'we have your room ready'!
Off to room # 3 ( the one we booked), and all of the sudden our vacation seemed to start!

Now with that bit stated, I would like to start with the best parts of the hotel and work my way down the line:

The highlight of the stay here for me is the location. The hotel is situated at the end of the beach next to an estuary preserve that has a path right into town. The beach is lovely, but not swimmable, the vendors respect the property lines and there's plenty of sun!

Staff are all very friendly, efficient and hard working. I didn't see one employee that wasn't engaged in their task of making a great stay for their guests.

The fish is great! The salsa and authentic Mexican food was very tasty.

Entertainment was fun, both the poolside activities as well as the night time entertainment.

The resort was clean, and kept up well. Gardens were lovely! Pools were clean, and there were different ones to choose from depending on you age or mood (everything from adult only pool to kids one).

Our lanai was a great place to sit and relax.

Food was ok, but after 7 days it got a little boring. Again, they do a good job of the fish, the beef not so much.

Like a hard bed? You'll love it here!

Love to party? So do some others - into the wee hours of the night. I guess that's what an all inclusive is good for, I don't know, this was my first time but please note: If you're going to tear it up outside your room til all hours of the morning, don't bother putting out the do not disturb signs because us early risers will make sure you get a shake by the cleaning ladies in the morning by misplacing your little door hangers.

Lastly, dear Holiday Inn managers: Please ensure you have adequate staffing at the front desk when you expect a bus load of guests. No one likes to wait over a half hour to get their room assignments after sitting in a plane for most of the day to get there - and please sort out your room reservation system. If we book a certain level of room upgrade before we leave our homes, we expect it to be ready when we arrive!

Final thoughts.. Great place, glad we went but I would not book another stay there. It's an all inclusive, but I guess we're just not al inclusive people...

Room Tip: Confirm your room reservation over the phone.
