My main problem was the excursions I booked with the hotel. First one was a dolphine swim, it was from 11AM-12 Noon, we were told to be at the front by 10:20, we were, 10:40 we ask were our ride is and they said they just talked to the driver and he is on his way, 10:50, 11AM, still nothing, complain again, and this time they REALLY DID CALL as now they said there is no driver today. They try and get us a cab and tell the cabbie that they tell us the cab is paid for, we finally get to Cabo Dolphins and the driver demands money, we said the hotel is paying, he said no and called a policeman over and we had to deal with him, he was good, told the cabbie to get a slip from inside Cabo Dolphins, by this time it is 11:35, and thinking they would just bump us to the 12-1PM spot, they hurried us into the dolphin area where we got 10 minutes to watch the dolpins, no ride back to the hotel as promised, and we are out $200 to get our feet wet for 10 minutes. We get back to the hotel and complain and are assured someone will get ahold of us hopefully before we leave to fix this, no one got ahold of us, we left my email, no email even apologizing for the incident. Both the hotel (for lieing that a driver was coming when they really didn't call and also Cabo Dolphins for not having the decency to just bumping us to the next hour since that is what we paid for) The 2nd excursion we booked was the sea lion swim the next day, it was a 14 hour day with a 2 hour drive and were told to be ready at the hotel entrance for 5AM, we were, then nothing, we complained but the only person to complain to was the front desk guy who didnt know who to contact, finally around 6:30 someone shows up to tell us our trip is cancelled due to bad weather, I assume it was because there wasnt enough interest, we got our money back a couple days later. We booked our own fishing trip, took a cab down to the marina and made a quick deal with one of the fisherman and had a great day the following day, up again at 5AM but this time we actually got to do something. DO NOT BOOK ANY EXCURSIONS FROM THIS HOTEL. Out side of these unpleasant experiences, the hotel is average, it was nice for what we paid for but the food seemed to be the same every day, we had to go out to eat a couple evenings b/c we were sick of the same old thing everyday. Most of the staff were extra friendly with the exception of the guy who was bartender at the main pool bar, everytime you wanted a drink he was less than enthusiastic to get it, his name was Luis, friendlys' cousin....Not friendlyI I wouldn't stay here again for the reasons listed as well as the beach they are on you are not allowed to swim in because of the under tow, some other hotels don't have that same problem.

For the price of our vacation, we were very disappointed. The biggest of all was the food quality. The area was awesome. The beach was great and local people were all freindly.
I will go back to San Jose area but not this facility.

Room Tip: Ala carte was brutal. Food was our only downfall.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort for six days & five nights and cannot wait to return!

The Holiday Inn is a very well managed and well maintained resort.
The Holiday Inn Resort is located within walking distance to the historic town of San Jose Del Cabo and directly next to a beautiful wildlife preserve with a walking path to town.
We enjoyed walking in the estuary; we saw lots of ducks, herons, and ibis and everyone was very pleasant in the historic area around San Jose's central plaza.
We booked our stay with Cheap Tickets.com that included… 1) a room upgrade, 2) free Wi-Fi and 3) a bicycle tour.
We also became “IHA Reward Club” members on the Holiday Inn web-site before we went based on other reviewer recommendations.
Our stay began with this experience - “A no wait check-in” and a much appreciated greeting.
We had asked about a room upgrade and presented our “IHA Reward Club” member card and was offered a room upgrade; Room 4115 “Deluxe Ocean Front Lanai Room” that faced the beach on the ground floor with hammock, table & chairs in front of an impressive cactus garden.
Thank you! Too the very hospitable and friendly front desk manager “David”!

The restaurants were fantastic with very friendly staff.
The food was great everyday… Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner – many options to choose from!
There was a dinner show one night and it was entertaining and fun - men and women dancers and one “fire” dancer.

The ocean in the area is not swimmable, although beautiful to walk on the beach and collect some sea shells. One evening they were releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean – “Bonus”!
There are three swimming pools on the property; 1) Adult pool, 2) Family pool & 3) Activity pool.
The “Adult pool” is the smallest and very quiet for relaxing. The "Family pool" seems to be the largest for family with smaller children and the "Activity pool" is where all the fun & games happened.
The "Activity pool" is where they held Bingo, Water-Volleyball and other games with music and a PA system from which the fun announcers “Ignacio & Rosro” kept everyone engaged in the fun and also played in some of the games with us making it very personal & friendly.

And, as noted above; all of the Holiday Inn staff members were fantastic...

Room Tip: Select the “Deluxe Ocean Front Lanai Room”on the ground floor for easy access to everything!

It is not about swimming and snorkeling. Forge about it. It is not about fancy and luxury. It is not.
It is simple and nice. Beautiful and great. And the people are who make the place enjoyable and lovely. I like to mention few names, because next stay is gonna be definitely at the same hotel.
Rocio and Nacho, Pedro and Luis, Graciela, Mario, Marcos, Paulina and many others, actually all the hotel staff (all the people there).

This vacation was a family gathering. There where 13 of us in total with 5 rooms. We where upgraded to a third floor partial ocean view, and the rooms where clean and housekeeping was great. The only problem we expeirensed was the elevator was not working and their is no other route to get down but the stairs. My father has Parkinson's and requires a wheelchair. At first the front desks only solution was to place my parents on a first floor room far away from all of the rest of the family. After explaining it was not my fathers fault their elevator was not working and we all wanted to be together in the same location, they finally updated them to a room on the bottom floor that could not have been more perfect. It made the trip that much better. They where treated extremely well and even received a plate of fresh fruit. Louis the swim up bartender is amazing, always making my 7 year old feel special. All around the staff was fantastic, friendly, and always accommodating. The Hotel was only 30 % occupied so there was only one Al la Carte open. The food was good, but for little ones that are more picky there was not a lot of selection. My daughter did love going to the hut and getting hot dogs during the day. Despite the hotel only being partially occupied there was still the entertainment of Nacho getting everyone up and participating. The children's pool is great for young families and we met a few families that returned annually to the Holiday Inn. Thank you Holiday Inn for making this family reunion a memorable one. You have an outstanding staff. For the price you can not go wrong. I would say that for anyone booking it is worth trying to upgrade to the suite on the ground floor with the hammock and chairs.

The food was just ok. The lady at the front desk was helpful and patient. We went during a slow week, so there wasn't very many activities. Nacho, the pool-boy / activities entertainer kept the party going regardless of the resort. You can not swim at the beach!! We had problems during check-in due to miscommunication with holidayinn.com. To sum it all up the resort is ok, it's the people who work there that make it awesome. Thanks guys
