Gazpacho tasted like canned soup. Too much pesto/basil in everything. Beautiful garden but buggy. They offered bug spray and had incense sticks - which kind of ruined the dining experience and as we were leaving they sprayed- so they are trying.

“Gem in the heart of old San Jose del Cabo”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

There are so many restaurants, with small unassuming entrances from the street, off the Plaza in San Jose it's sometimes hard to tell what's any good. We visited La Panga Antiqua for the first time last Christmas (for Christmas dinner following the awesome mass at the mission), and were beyond impressed.

We went again with 3 friends over Memorial Day weekend, and the restaurant still stands up to that first opinion. The setting is a beautiful interior courtyard, like so many of the Spanish colonial buildings have, and the service is outstanding.

Try the short ribs!!

We will be going back...

“Excellent seafood with a Mexican/fusion taste!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Easy to find near town square. Nice ambience in a courtyard. Service was excellent and we each had seafood in different preparations - all excellent. Cold Pacifico beer and guacamole/salsa started the meal in a wonderful direction!

“Secret Hideaway”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

La Panga looks like an abandoned building from the outside, I am not sure how many times I walked past it and never went in. Boy was that a mistake! After you enter the dimly lit entry, the world opens up in front of your eyes. Cozy tables surrounded by a lush garden making your experience private and peaceful. The walls are old and some are paint washed lending that old mexico feeling. I went for lunch and everything was fresh and delicious. Ben there 3 times now for lunch, service is great.
