If you are on a cruise or just spending couple of days in Cabo, the marina is an interesting place to go. Looking for fresh catch of the day or witness some filleting experts at work, that's the place to be around 2.30-3.30pm. Walk to the end of the marina where the flea market is. If you drive, make a turnaround at the Naval Base and you see hourly parking at less than $1 an hour. Never seen what a dorado, wahoo, snapper, tuna or marlin look like, here is the place. We were there on Oct 5 and 6 and end up buying these fish for our dinner BBQ. You can get a whole dorado, medium size for about $15 and a wahoo steak fresh for $10 a kilo. Always room for haggling if you buy in bulk and that was what we did eventually. I enjoy fishing and the adrenalin that goes with it when you land a catch but it is also convenience when you can just buy it directly from these fishermen. You know for sure it is fresh!

If you find a hotel on or close to the marina, you're golden. It's right in the middle of everything. You can walk to all the local attractions. The beach is a bit of a walk (maybe 10-15 minutes? But that can be a lot in extreme heat or tequila induced confusion) but all the restaurants and bars you need are close. I prefer to stay on the marina every time I visit.

This is where the action is during the daytime. There are many boats coming and going. The local sea lions follow the boats hoping for some fish scraps. The marina is surrounded by restaurants and shops. It is easy to walk around the marina. The only drawback can be the weather. We were there on a very hot day and there isn't much shade to speak of.

Wonderful place on the water. Excellent staff and service! If it wasn't right, they had no problems making it right.
