The marina was a great place to casually stroll and people watch. In fact, it was so leisurely that we did it with beers in hand from our own cooler, and it was like our own little walking bar. The vendors were not aggressive at all. A simple "gracias no" and a smile sends them on their way. And some of them do have spectacular things. Just haggle like there is no tomorrow. The sunshine felt great, and breeze off the water was so refreshing. The area is very clean, and the ocean smells so good! In fact, all of downtown Cabo was super clean. Especially compared to places like Cozumel. But Don't fall for anyone telling you to take your excursions right away because it is suppose to rain for the rest of the week. We got that a few times. Apparently it only ever rains for one day at a time in Cabo and only about 3 days out of the whole year.
I wouldn't recommend actually eating on the Mariana because it is a little touristy and prices are super high, but on the other hand the view is great.
And whatever you do, do not take your picture with the baby lion cub or give the "wildlife organization" any money. It's located at a kiosk next to Sr. Frong's and is a front for prostitution. It's run by a pimp who poses a bunch of young girls in leopard print tank tops as "wildlife staff" for the lion cub. My husband and I overheard a few "business" exchanges there when we were waiting for our cruise to take off. It made me really upset because the poor little baby lion didn't look very well cared for, and its merely serving as a front. Pass on the word, and don't be fooled!
