My wife and I just returned from our wedding in Los Cabos, and we couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience.. We had a small wedding with 19 guests, all of whom stayed at this property. Here are some of the highlights...

Location: The hotel is located on Medano Beach right across from Land's End. You couldn't ask for a more picturesque backdrop for a wedding. Just sitting at the beach or pool never got old because of the amazing views. The hotel within reasonable walking distance to town, but far enough from the party hotels/bars in the heart of Medano Beach so that it was actually quiet and relaxing. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel if you want to take the bus to Walmart or to town. The multitude of vendors can be annoying, but easily avoided if you stay up by the pool.

Service: I don't know if it was just because we were a wedding party, but everyone from the bellhops to the reception staff, housekeepers, and waiters at the restaurants were exceptionally good to us. People remembered our names, seemed genuinely happy to see us, and were always friendly and attentive. The staff seemed to actually enjoy their jobs. Our wedding coordinator, Karla Bastidas, worked very hard to make sure that we had the wonderful experience we had been hoping for.

Value: We got a great deal on expedia which included a food/beverage credit, which made up for what seem to be fairly typical (expensive) resort prices for food at the property. We would have been happy in the cheapest room available, having payed a bargain-basement price on the internet, but the wedding coordinator managed to get us upgraded to a honeymoon suite, which turned to be a gated suite typically used by the owner's guests. I can't imagine that you could count on this happening to you, but I would be surprised if they didn't make a serious effort to make you comfortable if you were getting hitched here.

Speaking of getting hitched, we were absolutely blown away by how affordable it was to get married here. The price on their wedding package is substantially less than many of the other area hotels, and I can't imagine getting any better service than we received here. $750 got us a space reserved on the beach, nicely decorated chairs and a huppah looking out towards Land's End, and one hour of professional photography (they threw this in because we didn't need the minister that usually comes with the package). They also came to decorate the bridal suite with flower petals, candles, and complimentary stuff from the spa on the wedding night.

Rooms/atmosphere: We obviously hit the jackpot with the honeymoon suite, but the other rooms we saw all looked clean and comfortably furnished. The beds were comfortable. The atmosphere of the rooms and the hotel in general is comfortable. Stuff is definitely nice, but not over the top luxurious, and the atmosphere is more family-friendly rather than exclusive. The pool is nice, but the replica pirate ship sitting in the middle of it is probably more likely to appeal to the kids than the adults, despite the fact that it is basically the poolside bar. The availability of kitchenettes is another major bonus for families with kids. Being able to give the kids cereal or a sandwich instead of forking out resort prices for every meal is a serious plus. If you're looking for a quiet, ultra-luxurious, exclusive property, you should look elsewhere, but this place definitely met or exceeded our needs and expectations. One of my friends was so happy with the property that he exchanged his timeshare in Puerto Vallarta for this one.

Timeshare factor: Definitely could be an annoyance, but I expected worse. The concierge staff is comprised entirely of timeshare salespeople, and they seemed faintly annoyed when rebuffed in their attempts to schedule a presentation for us, but after reading reviews, I actually expected the timeshare pressure to be much worse than it was.

Summary: We were absolutely thrilled with the service and value we received at this hotel, and would definitely recommend it for a destination wedding, or for travelers to Cabo in general, particularly families.

Our stay at Villa Del Arco was with friends who own units. The facilities were very clean, food was fantastic the view of the ocean and beach were fantastic and service was outstanding. If you like sushi, visit the outdoor sushi restaurant. We really concentrated on relaxing most days at the pool. Food served poolside was very good and the drinks were great also. Try the "Miami Vice" drink. It is a combination of a Margarita and a Daiquiri. Our pool experience was enhanced by the wonderful service we received from the pool area staff. AZUCENA CASTRO and JESUS ALVAREZ, specifically. They took care of us in a very professional and freindly manner. We not only had 2 excellent people taking care of us but they did it in a way that, by the time we had to return home, we felt as if they were our good friends. Villa Del Arco is located in close proximity to downtown and is only a short 15 minute walk by either beach or by road. It was a wonderful 5 day experience.

The location at Villa Del Arco is amazing!!! We visited Cabo San Lucas for our summer vacation and we selected Villa Del Arco. We stayed in one of their penthouses facing directly the ocean. We loved our room and the hotel itself. We were in the pool most of the day and we received great service and smiles all day long. We also ate in their restaurants and the buffet in the morning is outstanding. There is also a sushi restaurant that has a great menu and fresh fish. We will defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the ultimate package of great service, value, location, and great views for a vacation in Cabo. We loved how close we were to the nightlife and steps away from the ocean.

14 night stay - all service staff we interacted with were exceptional, very friendly, remembered us, and are a huge asset to the resort.
I've stayed at Villa del Arco for a total of around 7 weeks over 4 trips in the past 3 years. I have brought a dozen or more guests to them, including ones that bought timeshare. Prior to this trip, I knew most of the management from General Manager down, and because of my patronage and loyalty would get good prices on upgrades. Unfortunately, almost every staff member has been changed out from a shake up over costs and the economy, including all upper management.
This trip, I offered cash at check-in for a room upgrade and was told none were available. I was assured I was at the top of the list for any upgrade. I went to / and called the front desk numerous times over a FOURTEEN night stay, and was always told nothing was available and I was still the top of the waiting list. BS. We saw numerous empty 1-bedroom units in various parts of the building throughout our stay, all an upgrade from the studio.
Whether due to new management or because of the incredibly low booking cost through Orbitz, I felt like a second-class citizen at the resort in regards to booking and room placement. It was a huge stretch to call my "ocean view" room "ocean view" at all; without standing on the end of the balcony you saw nothing but the other side of the building. I've always been in the preferable building 3, offered to pay for upgrades or moving, was told nothing available which seemed clearly untrue. I mentioned multiple times that I'd pay, as at first it seemed there was a misunderstanding and they thought I was asking for an upgrade/change for free.
Aside from that fiasco, pool and maid service were excellent as always. All facilities were well-maintained. There's been a slight drop in activities quality as they've cut corners a bit to survive in this economy, but food and service quality are still very high. Their activities guy is great, but they used to come around during the day to inform you of the evening's activities, sell you tickets, let you know what was going on, etc. We only found out about anything through chance noticing a sign or a waiter asking if we were coming.
Checkout took 1 full hour of hassle at the front desk. I had an orbitz discount as well as a timeshare tour discount and for unknown reasons it took many, many trips, phone calls, and confirmations to process both. I missed an excursion I had pre-paid for because of this.
While I have always been loyal to Villa del Arco and love their resort, as well as being able to access the adjoining Villa del Palmar (younger crowd, cool waterslide, more vibrant pool atmosphere), I may try somewhere new now, like Casa Dorada, or may have to book directly with the hotel and forego Orbitz deal pricing to get decent service. Very frustrating.

Had a great time at Villa del Arco - service and people were great - during our stay we had a server at the pool that was the best. His name was Sergio and he needs to be awarded with a Gold star and a raise. he remembered our names and knew our drinks everytime we needed one.

We would come back and stay at Villa del Arco.

Thanks for a great time -:)

This was our second stay at the VDA and enjoyed it more than the first. Why? The service seemed to improve since our first stay in 2007. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Granted, we are UVC members, not sure if that is a factor. However, the rooms are very nice; amenities are plentiful. The toiletries provided were of a good quality; save your packing space and just use what's here (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, lotion). The pools were very clean and warm. Happy hour at two bars/restaurants. Fish tacos very good! The on-site store at VDP is very convenient and the prices are not too high. About a 20-30min walk to town. Check it out!

The main problem we had with this place was the fact that it's a timeshare resort, which we knew (we own somewhere else) but we were made to feel like, since we were not owners there nor did we want to be, we didn't receive very good service. Immediately upon check-in they booked us for a timeshare tour and presentation. It wasn't really optional. We had never been to Cabo nor to that resort. Did they really think we would spend $50K to buy a unit? And, it took several days for us to find out about the resort's activities, because no one told us about them when we checked in. I finally asked for a schedule, and even then they had trouble coming up with a copy. At other similar resorts we've stayed at, such a schedule was delivered to our door every day, and ALL guests were encouraged to participate and have fun. The resort says the water is safe to drink, yet the concierge insisted we needed to buy water at the resort store. We were supposed to have internet access in our room but did not. We had a good time when we were away from the resort, but didn't get a good vibe there. Despite that, I have to give it a pretty good rating as a place to stay. Having two bedrooms and three bathrooms and a kitchen were great.
