“Not a great start.”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

I booked this resort through Orbitz and there was a mix up with our check-in date. Front desk offered little to no help in trying to sort things out. I had to call Orbitz on my own cell phone and have them call resort to change dates. After that was handled we were taken to our room and the smell of sulfar/sewage was very prominent in the room and surroundings outside. I guess they are on a septic system. We immediately went back to front desk to request another room. Again clerk was aloof and not eager to please telling me they were no other rooms available. I had to become very assertive and tell her I WILL NOT stay in a room that smells like poop and asked for the manager. The manager was very accomodating and upgraded us to a one bedroom suite from the Jr suite we had booked and threw in some coupons for spa and restaurants. In spite of all the drama we enjoyed the resort and the ammenities. There are three sister properties on site with a mini mall area with convienence store, medical office, deli and jewelry store connected by a free trolley that runs frequently between the three. This resort is close enough to walk into downtown marina district if you don't mind the uphill trek on your return or you can take the water taxi down the shore to other resorts. Close to Costco and Walmart for a $5 cab ride or you can catch the bus for 50 cent. the sister property Villa Palmar offers entertainment and more of a party atmosphere a short trolley ride away or go into marina district for the more famous Cabo nightspots. This place turned into a ghost town after 8pm. Great for families but they also offer semi-private hot tubs away the pool areas for a little romance. Would probably stay at Villa Palmar next time which is cheaper and just as nice with more adult activities.

Room Tip: Try to get room on higher floors due to noise from an open field near the property where locals hang...

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Villa del Arco. All inclusive was the way to go. Food was good at all the restaurants. The staff were helpful right from the moment we arrived.
We found this resort was the best of both worlds. The sister resort, the Palmar, was livelier and had the bar and evening shows while the Arco was more laid back and quieter.
We liked it so much we will go back soon. Thanks for everything.

Room Tip: We went with an ocean view and a higher floor to avoid the pool noise.

This will be the third Spring Break at Villa Del Arco. I've always been impressed by the high level of service and attention to detail. This Resort has the best location and staff in all of Cabo. You will never want to leave. I am not a time share owner, but highly recommend a vacation at any of the Villa Group Properties. Villa la Estancia in Nuevo Vallarta is wonderful as well. Life is short book a vacation.

Room Tip: Ocean View, garden view, you can't go wrong. Just make sure you are in good company.

This was one of the few all-inclusive resorts I would actually return to. It is absolutely beautiful, clean and peaceful. We are a young couple and the atmosphere was perfect for us.

Pros: Food, especially at El Faro, didn't seem very crowded, beach is swimmable, great location walking distance from downtown, restaurants situated so they all have ocean views

Cons: service at the restaurants was slow, don't expect to be in and out quickly. Because they offer both all-inclusive and pay as you go, you have to sign a check each time you order anything, even a bottle of water. I understand it's necessary since they have both options, but it became annoying and caused us some hassle when we checked out because one of our checks was unsigned.

We look forward to returning in a few years!

We stayed Feb 22-Mar 1 in a deluxe studio suite. It was great for two people. The staff and food at Del Arco is great. If you are lounging by the pool, please ask for Andres Berber for food/drinks! He works super hard and has a great personality. We did the all inclusive package. This was not your stereotypical all inclusive. For lunch/dinner you order off a menu...its not a buffet. We had the same access to food/drinks that others (members/owners) were paying full price for. The food at all of the restaurants are very good. Our favorite was El Faro (seafood/sushi), ask for Felipe. He is a great waiter. We will definitely return. If you like lobster, we recommend Moro's downtown. The street is torn up right now so it is a bit hard to get to but totally worth it! It is a casual restaurant and kid friendly.

After staying at the Hilton (which is between Cabo and San Jose), Villa Del Arco is simply amazing. What I really appreciate about this place is the location to everything and the views you get from your room and the pool is simply stunning.

The room blew my mind away when we first walked in. It was a one bedroom suite (which we didn't expect) and was insanely large. The furniture is a tad outdated but everything was in good working order.

The staff was also very friendly and kind.

We didn't eat here so can't comment on that. The drinks are pretty good but not as good as other places we've been to in Cabo.

Room Tip: High floors and book through hotels.com as we got a really discounted rate that way.
