We stayed here from July 18-23. Our deluxe room was pretty large. Vaulted ceiling (3rd floor) with a patio to sit and enjoy the view. The bed was very, very comfortable. More than enough down feathered pillows for your comort as well as a down comforter! Bathroom had two sinks and a fairly large shower to fit two people. Didn't use the jacuzzi afterall; spent most of the time poolside or in the outdoor jacuzzi enjoying the ocean view!!! TV had a few HBO channels. The maids were efficient and friendly. We were in villa 25. I suppose the villas closest to the lobby and pool would be slightly noisier?

Three large pools. Center pool with the infinity edge facing the ocean tended to be the most crowded. Each pool had a somewhat private and shallower end for the kids. Cool thing is the pools are open 24hrs!!!! Night swimming was just as great! The ocean not only sounded harsh but was nonswimmable most of the time with red flags on the beach for warning guests.

Restaurants were very, very expensive. Didn't think much of Pitahayas (international) and Girasoles (mexican). Very much enjoyed the food at De Cortez (grill/American). Great food and excellent service with gorgeous outdoor views of the ocean! Poolside food from Las Sirenas was great!!! Try the Nachos and a cheeseburger. Great snack!! The happy hour/special (2 for 1)drinks were okay. We didn't feel there was much alcohol in them. The waiters at the pool are great.

Be aware of timeshare sales. We attended a 90 min meeting for a $100 gift certificate in return. It was worth the certificate for the pricey restaurants.
Be careful as you clear customs at the airport. Tons and tons of pushy timeshare people. They'll say anything to get you to follow them for timeshare sales. They'll even tell you that they are your transportation that you booked!

Transportation into Cabo San Lucas was $20 roundtrip/2 people via the hotel shuttle which started from 9am from the hotel and 930pm back to the hotel. By taxi you are looking at $20 one way. Check out Cabo Wabo. Lively. We hired a local to take us on his boat to check out El Arco and Lover's Beach.

All in all, we'd go back to Cabo as it's an easy and inexpensive trip from Southern California. The flight is 2 1/2 hours. Perhaps we would consider an all-inclusive resort next time. If not, we would definitely stay at the Sheraton again.

We just spent a week at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar and agree with most of the other reviews - it is a great place to stay!! We visited some of the other resorts and it is by far the nicest we saw in either the Los Cabo or San Jose Del Cabo.

The room was great, with "heavenly beds", tub and shower in the bath and larger than most hotel rooms.

The hotel service was really exceptional. All the staff from the front desk, waiters, to maids were friendly and always eager to do whatever. Their answer for any request is "no problem." We ate in two of the restaurants and at the pool bar and the food was fine and not too expensive. We did not try the #1 restaurant as others told us it was over priced.

The surf was too rough with a red flag half the days we were there but it is the same all over the Cabos area. The pools are great, plenty of room. They have one pool for families & kids so you could pick which pool to visit. The family pool had supervised activities planned all day from water aerobics, bingo to water volleyball.

Don't stay at the hotel row area in Los Cabos unless you like spending yout time on crowded beaches with drunk kids from USA and street vendors coming up to you every few minutes. The Sheraton is in a private development with guards at the main drive so the beach is quiet and remote. If you want to sit on the beach in a chair you may be the only one there.

We did not fish while there but others were catching fish just off the beach. May have to take the fishing stuff next time.

We just returned from a week at the Hacienda Del Mar Resort in Cabo. The resort is absolutely beautiful! Very old world Mexico, lush landscaping, fountains everywhere. The rooms are beautiful and large. The service and restaurants were outstanding. My 3 children LOVED all the pools. Be warned that the surf is very rough and not suitable for swimming most days, but this is true for the entire area. Also be warned that at the airport and resort you will be beseiged with time share offers, so be prepared. We did go to a presentation and did buy and are very excited and pleased with our purchase and look forward to visiting here in the years to come. In looking at neighboring resorts, the Sheraton is definately one of, if not, THE nicest. Surrounded by beautiful golf courses, but it is very pricey to golf. Would recommend this resort hands down!

My husband and I just returned from our 2nd stay at the Sheraton and can not wait to go back! The staff we encountered were helpful and friendly - especially Joel at the Bell Desk and Victor at the Beach bar. The room was great with a view of the ocean. I loved going to sleep every night listening to the waves splash on shore. There may have been construction going on, but you had to look hard for it. I can't say enough about the beauty and charm of this resort. The pools are great and we always found chairs. Because this is our 4th trip to Cabo, we know that the resorts can be expensive. On our first day we rented a car and went to Costco to load up on water, wine, beer, soda and snacks (we brought a soft cooler with us). It turned out to be a great money saving idea for us. The food is expensive at the resort, I'm not going to deny that, but it's VACATION! If I wanted cheap food I would have stayed at home and cooked myself. There is cheaper food to be found in Cabo and the taxi ride was $20 one way for two of us. The rental car charge was $60 per day, we figured we were ahead of the game by taking taxis. Besides, I wanted to be able to enjoy my vacation without having to worry about parking, traffic or not being able to have a drink with dinner. Speaking of dinner, we ate at Sancho Pancha's which is at the plaza by the docks....it was SO GOOD. The menu was so creative and so delicious and the staff was a delight.

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon and loved the Sheraton. We reserved a room with a King size bed and ocean view. We got everything we asked for. The room was beautiful and clean. The service was excellent. Everything worked including the shower, air conditioning and iron. Only drawbacks are this....It is about 6 miles from town. You have to take the shuttle which is ten dollars a person round trip. The last shuttle to leave town leaves at 9:30. Cabs are about $25 one way. The beach was not swimmable but it is beautiful and we layed on the beach and walked along the beach almost everyday. As you've probably heard drinks are very expensive(for Mexico) and food is pretty expensive(again for Mexico). Just weigh what you want. If you want to spend a lot of time on the beach and in the water don't stay at the Sheraton.

We just returned from the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar (5/21-5/29) and I must say, this was one of the nicest layouts of a hotel I've ever seen. Certainly one of the top 3 in Cabo. Prior to the trip, I read the reviews posted here and a few kind of made me nervous about a few things however, once we we arrived, I could tell it would be a fantastic trip. The hotel seems to be the only one down there that is really spread out and authentic feeling. Buildings do not exceed 4 floors and the architecture of each villa is impressive and very colorful. The rooms were all extremely neat and well kept throughout the day with miads stopping by 2-3 times daily to change towells and make beds. We had a deluxe ocienview room which gave us a nice view of the pool area as well as the sea of Cortez. No complaints on the view or the room itself. Beds were very comfy and the bathroom was generous in size. I'm a tall guy so the huge walk-in showers (in addition to the jacuzzi) were a pleasant surprise. The only problem we really had with the room was that because everything was tiled and concrete, it led to somewhat noisy mornings when the housekeepers rolled their carts down the hallways and the noise echoed. Nothing too serious though.

The pool was great, and despite some people saying it was too small, we felt the 4 large pools were very spacious and well placed. Not to mention we ended up on the beach much of the time as it seemed to be completely empty and we basically had a whole beach bar to ourselves. The service throughout the hotel was superb. We've never met friendlier people anywhere.....this includes the town as well. We found that the timeshare portion of the hotel had things at a bit less cost (ie. mini markets, restaraunts, etc.) but the two main restaraunts were great as well. De Cortez is well worth the money for a nice quiet dinner on the beach and a low key evening. Again, a bit pricey but worthwhile....You're on vacation!!!!

To get to town, we usually paid $5 one way each on the hotel shuttle which comes about 10 times daily and then just caught a taxi home if we were to be later than 11pm on our return in the evening. So about 300 pesos or 25-26 US roundtrip. But to be honest, once you're there you dont even think about those expenses. So if you like the look of this hotel I say stay here......you'll love it and you'll find it will meet and exceed your expectations. In town there is a bunch to do although there are only a few big nightclubs.......it's more of a couples town we found. 3 restaraunts we tried and loved were Nik San .....great sushi Mi Casa......superb authentic mexican cuisine ..... and Trailer Park ......sounds funny but hands down the biggest and best lobsters/seafood in town. All of these I'd definitely go back to and recommend to anyone.

Overall, the trip was great, the hotel was immaculate (So many types of plantlife tended to 24/7 by the gardeners) and I wouldnt stay anywhere else if I went back. I'd be surprised if anyone would have a complaint about such a resort.......But then again, everyone has their own tastes. If you like authentic Mexican architecture and top notch service, you will appreciate this hotel. We can't wait to return one day!

My husband and I just returned from Cabo 4/29 - 5/6). After reading reviews on this site, we decided the Sheraton would be ideal. The hotel is situated in The Corridor - which was perfect for us. Its about a 15 min. ride from the downtown area. We were looking for R&R and found it at the Sheraton. If you are looking for "night life" and a lot of action, I suggest finding a hotel in the downtown area. I booked a deluxe garden view room, however, since we are Starwood Preferred Members, we were given a free upgrade to a partial ocean view room. Fantastic location within the hotel. Throughout the hotel, we found the staff to be friendly, polite, attentive and accommodating. In the evening, maid service provided us with clean towels; straightened the bed linens; plumped our pillows and left chocolate candy on our bed!!! Overall, the hotel architecture is very attractive; grounds were immaculately kept; pools were clean. Reminder: The hotel is expanding and there is construction going on at this facility, however, it was not distracting. If you prefer to lounge on the beach, the hotel has a private beach - during our stay, the surf was a little rough. As others have stated, the restaurants are a bit pricey - but to us, it was well worth it. You can take the shuttle to town for $10.00 roundtrip p/p which we did. Note: This hotel is part of the Hacienda Del Mar, timeshares, - we were invited to go to an orientation but chose not to go and was pleasantly surprised that the timeshare staff did not harass us. If you went to the presentation, you were given a $100 gift certificate to use at one of the restaurants along with discounts for some of the activities they have in Cabo. Oh, by the way - you can drink the water there. Bottled water is very expensive in Cabo - so be forewarned!! Check-out was simple/easy - no problems with our bill as others have stated. I would highly recommend this hotel!!! Perfect getaway vacation!!
