Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort
Ranked #21 of 71 Hotels in Cabo San Lucas
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 23, 2014

I cannot believe that this property is not rated #1 in Cabo. This was my first time going to an all inclusive. I expected buffets with ok food! We had Gourmet dinners in the restaurants every single night. Not to mention the fantastic breakfasts and lunches by the pool.
The young and very talented chef made spectacular food. The Sunday champagne brunch is not to be missed.
The new manager of the hotel Mr. Barreras was on top of everything and has improved the service and quality of this place greatly. He is always around, making sure everyone is happy, including his staff.
The food & beverage manager , Mr. Ramirez also made sure that every single guest was satisfied. They are both truly perfect gentlemen and genuinely kind. I think this is the reason why all the staff are also very happy, polite and friendly.
Edu and his staff by the pool, all the gentlemen at front desk and even Alfredo, our Bell boy were so so kind and helpful.
Rooms were clean, and room service was fabulous.
Mr. Barrera and Mr.Ramirez, together with their lovely staff have everything in control and go out of their way to make you happy. Our four nights there were like a dream! We will be back very soon.
MUCHAS GRACIAS .....

Enjoyed the location of this resort. Smaller quaint feeling with clean rooms. Easy to walk to town or catch a bicycle cabby. Again you have to go thru time share salesperson to get your pool towel cards but they are not as hardcore as other resorts. Trick here is to switch out your used pool towels at the end of day for new towels you can use the next morning. As pool towel cabana does not open very early. The food was good and the meal plan worked well for us. Check again and again before arrival on price of meal plans as the price dropped drastically a week before our arrival and you can purchase it at rack rate on sight if all else fails. Internet is not the best at this property and very expensive. Only free wifi is at very small cafe near front entrance with no view. The mixed drinks were it the highest quality of product or taste but the wait staff was incredible. Extra points to Margarita our pool waiter- great job, very friendly and helpful. Our restaurant waiter Elisio was great. We nicknamed him Mr Happy always smiling and
joyful.

My husband and I took a 5 day, 4 night "babymoon" to Pueblo Bonito Pacifica the week before Easter and had a lovely time.

AIRPORT ARRIVAL - Make sure to go through 2 sets of doors to get to your taxi or shuttle company. We were diverted after 1 and ended up delayed a short bit. Our travel agent booked us the transportation and we were with EPIC. Hard to find gentleman upon arrival but no problems with getting to or from resort.

RESORT ARRIVAL - We were greeted with cool towels and champagne for my husband. Nice touch. We did have a bit of a wait to check in - seems like so many people working at resort that they might increase front desk presence during the daytime. We checked in and then had to go to a desk to get our bracelets - where we were gently pressured to attend a "welcome breakfast" about their time shares and get $300 spa credit. We declined twice and got out of it. We did have to wait then another 10 minutes for our room.

ROOM - Not that you're probably in your room all that much, but size was disappointing. We've stayed at a few all inclusives and have had much larger rooms, usually with a jacuzzi. The bedroom was big enough that it had a king sized bed, armoire with TV (a good number of English stations) and mini-fridge (water, soda, beer) although no liquor dispensors like we've had other places, two chairs as well as a desk. The room was plain in decoration but that's not a bad thing. My biggest complaint was that around the bed is some beautiful inlaid stone designs that are not friendly to walk on, especially if you get up and forget they are there. They have put down a small run on each side probably to help with this, but most still uncovered. The bathroom has a vanity area (with makeup mirror, hair dryer, and products-shampoo, lotion, shoe buffer, shower cap), a small walk in shower area, and a toilet stall. Shower head is very forceful so beware if you get a sunburn. Wish there had been a stool to sit on in the shower so shaving was easier. Fan in toilet stall pretty loud. Our balcony (ocean view, 4th floor) was very small with barely enough room for 2 chairs. A nice view but cramped.

POOLS - There are 2 pools that are virtually empty all day long. The larger one has the swim up bar. Biggest complaint was that people much stake out chairs, especially in the shade, before 7am and then who knows when they show up because many were left empty entire time we were down at pool. Would be nice if they had more chairs available or way to monitor those that save and don't use.

BEACH - No swimming but not a surprise from reading on there. The beach is NOT silky smooth and parts are quite rough on your feet. Nice that there are no vendors to bother you and you can walk a long way by yourself. Definitley worth $40 to rent a cabana as it's wonderful to lounge near the sound of the ocean and take a nap. Service was not what I expected for giving her a $20 tip at the beginning of the day. Few times we needed drinks or food it took quite awhile and it didn't look like she was busy with others.

DRINKS - I only drank non-alcoholic and had no problems. My husband seemed to enjoy his mixed drinks. Selection seemed good.

ROOM SERVICE - Always took 35-40 minutes no matter time or day or what we ordered. Had no issues--got what we ordered, appropriate temperature, and pleasant delivery men.

SIEMPRE BREAKFAST - Wonderful breakfast bufffet although more limited that other all inclusives we've been at. Had an omelet and smoothie every morning we were there. Some yummy pastries as well - last day there seemed more crowded than ever and pastries were running out so missed eating favorite one.

SIEMPRE DINNER - Ate here twice. Lovely setting and delicious food. My salads, entrees (risotto, filet), and desserts were excellent. Big portions. A little dark inside but sets romantic vibe. Arrived at 9:05 one night for 9:00 reservation and were given a little hassle by gentleman at desk about trying to close up for the night, however another couple arrived about 20 minutes later so we obviously weren't holding things up.

POOLSIDE LUNCH - Nice menu to order off of. Takes a long time though even if just ordering chips with guacamole.

POOLSIDE DINNER BUFFET - Ate at BBQ night as a "snack" before dinner up at Sunset. Excellent corn chowder and desserts. Not sure I would want this to be my "real" dinner however.

SUNSET BISTRO - Ate her 2 nights with a quick shuttle up to that resort. First night we were sat out on the patio and had a wondeful meal with a beautiful setting. Second night our reservations were for 9pm and we were sat inside after being told that 8pm is the last seating outside. Wish we would have known that because inside is very loud and chaotic - lots of families with little kids up way past their bedtime. Food was still good, but definitely did not enjoy like our first meal. Shuttle back was a little bit of a hassle - you take one of their "taxis" up the hill and then wait for a shuttle back to PBP. Not a big deal but should be easier.

SHOPPING - There is a small shop on the property with a small selection of gifty items as well as useful items. Was a little disappointing to have to buy toothpaste that we forget at the store rather than the front desk having some on hand to give us. There is also a cart out by the pool with things to buy and looks like they add a few more carts in the evening.

MISC - This is a fantastic, small, quiet resort which is what we were looking for this time. Everything is walkable so nice not to use golf carts. We love our kids but great to not have any around for the time we were there. LOVED the hammocks near the pool at night when things are still. Can snuggle and hear the crashing waves. The resort could have benches or chairs around - only ones are up by the lobby. I would have liked to sit and rest/read a bit but nowhere to do it. Weather here was cooler than I thought it would be from watching it prior to our trip - I know the ocean breeze cools things but it was cool sometimes when swimming and downright cold in the evening - bring a sweater or jacket.

Overall a great vacation. Would come back again!

Just returned from the Pacifica and wanted to write a few words on the resort. The hotel was a small, somewhat private resort on it's own stretch of beach that my wife an I walked every morning. Food was amazing and staff was more than courteous. GO TO THE SKY POOL FOR 1 DAY....WHAT A VIEW. It's behind you on top of the Pueblo Sunset hotel mountaintop with the ORANGE umbrellas. Just take the shuttle, it's free.
Great beach volleyball everyday and a special shout out to Adrianna, Gabriel, and Edgar (the activity staff) for making my time incredible. Not only are they great people but they will get you ANYTHING you need. We'll see you again Pueblo Bonito Pacifica

Besides a few small issues that could have been handled much better by mgmt, our week at PBP was amazing. The groundskeepers work endlessly and hopefully are paid & acknowledged for their over the top work! The food at Siempre was always wonderful especially the Sunday brunch! We tried the buffet one night and I was not impressed at all and sad that we had missed a wonderful meal at Siempre by opting for the buffet. The beach bed was well worth the $ and one of our favorite days. We enjoyed 3 spa services that were all worth every penny. The pool was wonderful but the service at the Aqua Bar for food and drinks was below average. The wait staff would gladly take your order, but we only received our drinks once after ordering. The other times we gave up & went and got it ourselves. The rooms are clean & perfect for our needs and the view is incredible! We saw several whales from our balcony and enjoyed all the beautiful birds that would visit us. There were some staff that really stood out & provided excellent service. Miquel (front desk); Brian, Antonio, Francisco, Pedro, Manuel, Carmen, & Erika (Siempre); although the Aquabar Manager Ricio never provided us any service, I was highly impressed watching her work ethics throughout the week! She is one hard worker! Thanks to PCP for giving me my new drink! The Paloma is now being made as our "house" drink! The only negative things I can say about this resort is the Aquabar staff (not including Ricio), the buffet food (outside) and the 3 problems we had that were not properly handled. All in all, Pacifica is an amazing resort that will definitely give you the rest and relaxation that you deserve. If you are looking for the "party" atmosphere you would be better off moving down to Medano Beach.

Room Tip: Higher the better view!

I found this deal on Hotwire - without knowing the resort's name I paid US$180 per night on all inclusive resort in Cabo... and let me tell you, this was an amazing deal! (Regular rates on their website is US$600 per night)

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is an adult only, first class resort with an amazing restaurant called Siempre, a beautiful and always empty beach on the Pacific side, a great spa and well equipped gym and beautiful well kept grounds. This was my first time on a all inclusive resort but the service and the food (from presentation to flavor) blew me away.

The property is quiet and romantic, perfect for couples.

The company owns 3 other hotels in Cabo and we had dinner in two of them and the experience was similar to Pacifica - Fellini's at Rosé & Cilatro's at Pueblo Blanco, with amazing views of the coast and delicious food.

If you are planning a trip to Cabo and you are looking for peace and relaxation, you can't go wrong on this five star property.

Just got back from a five night stay at this beautiful resort. Having read some of the reviews going into the trip we were a little skeptical. However, come to find out, some of those reviews were on some of the other Pueblo Bonito Resorts. We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica (adults only, all-inclusive). First, I'd like to mention something about the airport and the time share hounds, because I wish I'd known that going through the airport. You must go through two sets of doors to get past all the time share people to get a Taxi. We went through one set of doors and let our guard down because we thought we were past the Time Share people. You must go through two sets of doors to get to the Taxi stand. However, we did receive a lot of compensation for going to the time share presentation. Now to the hotel review. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept. The rooms are clean and well kept as well. There is a small mini-bar in the room with Diet Coke, Coke, Pacifica, Corona, 4 waters, Sprite, and Diet Sprite.
They refill these everyday but if you need something restocked they will immediately come do it. Bed and pillows could be a little more comfortable but maybe I'm just picky. Our room was an Ocean View which we paid extra for, but looking at the hotel layout it looks like most of the rooms have some sort of view of the ocean, maybe just not as good as ours. We found the hotel to be very quiet and peaceful. If you are into a lot of night life and action this is probably not the resort for you. The beach here is private with no peddlers trying to sell you stuff. The beach here is not swimmable at all, but is very pretty and well kept. The cabanas on the beach are well worth the $40 to use for the day. We were able to relax in the cabana and had excellent wait staff to serve us lunch and drinks etc throughout the day. The food overall was good for an all-inclusive resort. The sushi restaurant wasn't great, my boyfriend compared it to supermarket sushi. I however didn't find it that appalling. The Siempre restaurant was excellent. Dinner at the Siempre restaurant consisted of lots of choices, including a few special items for an extra fee (lamb or lobster). The lobster was amazing and was worth the extra fee. All the seafood served here tasted fresh and was very good. My boyfriend had a few steaks that he liked as well. Breakfast buffet at the Siempre was good with lots of choices. You can also order off a menu for breakfast if you wish. The desserts here are nothing special and could definitely be improved upon. The fish tacos served out in the pool area restaurant are very good. The alcoholic drinks are a little hit or miss taste- wise depending who is making them. We found the drinks tasted better if you ordered them yourself directly from one of the bar-tenders. All the service and wait staff here were fantastic. Always very friendly with a smile on their face and happy to serve you. Gregorio at Siempre restaurant was fantastic and went above and beyond. The pools (2) were well kept and clean. Also there was a large spa. The weather was warm while we were visiting, however this resort is very windy because of its location on the pacific side of Cabo. The hotel has built screens and has glass shields around the pool to cut down on the amount of wind which is nice. The breeze was nice at times and helped to keep you cool during the day in the sun. Bring plenty of sweaters for night time because it does cool down once the sunsets especially with the wind. There are fire pits by an outside bar at night with a live band certain nights of the week. They were good and entertaining. During the day there were lots of activities available even though we did not participate in any of them. All in all it was a great trip and was very relaxing. The only reason why I cannot give it five stars is because it is not perfect and there is always room for improvement. Would definitely go back.
