Maria Jimenez is a tiny gem of a restaurant on a side street in Cabo San Lucas. There are only 5 tables, and the place is truly authentic Mexican atmosphere. There was a woman making tortillas on the front porch when we arrived. Our waitress, Genesis, was very friendly and spoke wonderful English. While they do not serve alcohol, you may bring your drinks with you. However, we did not miss our margaritas as they prepare a frozen drink with lemonade and mint that is delicious and refreshing. The food was excellent, and the large portions were served on lovely Mexican pottery. We truly enjoyed the tortilla soup, flank steak quesadillas, guacamole and chips, and the red and green enchilladas. We highly recommend this place for an authentic Mexican evening from start to finish. Definitely, we will be going back when we return to Cabo.

Rally loved this place. The food and setting is really authentic and it is great value. A little outside the center of town it is still walkable or a short taxi ride away. They make the tortilla right at the front entrance. They were great. All the dishes we had were really great and especially the marinated chicken. Guacamole was great too. One of the best meals we had in cabo. It is a small place so plan accordingly.

We are always interested in new restaurants, and the reviews of this place caught my attention. We visited on a Sunday evening a few weeks ago, and were very pleased with what we found. It's quite a small place - only 5 tables inside and 2 outside. No alcohol is served as it is across the street from a day care or school, but the fruit drinks that they serve are delicious, and I suppose it is OK to not drink with one meal. The meal started with a bowl of complimentary pozole, which was very good, plus I also like "free." After that we had one of their appetizer plates of sopes, which are a specialty, and those too, were delicious. Frankly, we could have stopped there, but I wanted to at least try one of their specialties - the giant quesadillas. We ended up sharing the arrachera and cheese quesadilla which was also very good, but too much for two of us to finish after the soup and appetizer. All in all, this was a great meal. The service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. I believe the bill for two was something like 220 pesos (~17 USD). When I return, I will skip the appetizer so that I can sample more of their main dishes. If you are looking for authentic Mexican dishes with a very nice atmosphere (think date night with your Mexican girl friend as we saw several local couples doing just that), this would definitely be a restaurant for you to try. Probably only for small parties because of limited seating. They are open from 1 pm to 10 pm Tuesday through Sunday.

By far the best meal of our trip to Cabo. We were referred by our boat captain. Authentic Mexican and fabulous flavors. Go for the food. Small place . No alcohol due to location across from child care site, but you can carry in. There is a corner grocery where you can pick up a couple beers or stop on the way a d grab a bottle of wine.

You will enjoy this quaint restaurant run by Maria Jimenez and her daughter. The food is outstanding and frankly is some of the best we have eaten in the many years visiting Cabo. Both Maria and her daughter are delighful and graceful people who make you feel like you are the most important person on the planet. A very nice addition to Cabo San Lucas. We will be back next year!!
