“Great option for Los Cabos”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

Los Cabos is a unique destination with a wide variety of resorts ranging from the low end all inclusive options filled with american families to the extremeñy exlusive and expensove options more suitable for couples.

The Fiesta Americana offers a very good balance between these extremes with a magnificent location, great food at a price that wont leave you suffering for months.

At the restaurants try the calamari and tuna, both extremely fresh and locally caught.

We had a great stay the last week of May, with an ocean front, two bedroom unit. The resort was not that busy, so the service was fantastic. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the Somma Wine spa. The boys and I enjoyed playing golf at Cabo Del Sol next door.

The concierge (Tony) was very helpful in booking our activities and getting us discounted rates. We enjoyed ziplining, a sunset cruise to El Arco, golf, snorkeling and the spa.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We used the grocery service to stock our room with food for lunch, breakfast and snacks. We enjoyed several meals at the Vinna Del Mar, which had decent prices and a good selection for teens.

Make sure to check out the exceptional guitarist Hector Gomez who is in the firepit by the ocean most evenings at sunset. The wife and I enjoyed a few cocktails along with his relaxing music while we watched the sun go down.

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom unit in the Club Villas next to the Sales Presentation building. It was an eas...

We had a large group and booked 3, 2-bedroom suites in the time share area, so we had an amazing suite with two bedrooms (one of which was actually an attached studio). Staff was wonderful and helped us with everything we needed. We had fun doing all the free activities around the hotel, fishing in the morning was a blast,,,we didn't catch anything but it was fun never the less. Free yoga classes in the morning was very enjoyable. Looking at the stars through the telescope was definately a highlight. Very fun to listen to the music around the firepit at night as well. Food was excellent at both restuarants. We had fun doing dolphins, lover's beach, horseback riding, zip-lines and off road racing. A very fun trip was had by all.

The hotel is beautiful. Located about 10 mins outside of Cabo, which was fine for us because we really enjoyed the privacy. We rented a car ahead of time for daily trips & used a cab for evening travel. The cab service is quite expensive, however ($20 each way).

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in and told we were upgraded to the Grand Club just for booking w/Expedia! The Grand Club provided us w/free "continental" breakfast every morning & FREE cocktails & appetizers every evening in our own private lounge! This was AMAZING! I say "continental" breakfast because it was unlike any continental breakfast the 4 of us have ever received: fresh salmon, sandwiches, shrimp appetizers, cheese plates (my husbands favorite!), etc. The cocktail hour was by far the best value, made even more enjoyable w/the INCREDIBLE service of Gil, our bartender & Candy our server. Gil kept the husbands constantly supplied w/Pacifico & shots of Don Julio tequila and kept the wives glasses full w/his "Gil's Especial" mixed drink (which was delicious BTW), he even made sure we were aptly provided w/bottled water when we were all done w/our drinks for the night. He was so kind, he instantly became like family. The chef (Rigo) made some of the most delicious appetizers we've ever had.
Our private Grand Club Concierge (Adriana) was excellent. She booked all of the trips we wanted quickly & w/great rates (much more inexpensive than we were quoted on our own). Adriana was very pleasant & kind. All of the staff we encountered on our 6day stay were extremely nice & helpful...down to the lifeguard medic Mario on the beach, who took the time to bandage & treat every tiny scrape the wives received attempting to snorkel near the rocks :) That's right! We were provided w/free snorkel gear just for asking & was able to snorkel right on the beach! The husbands really enjoyed it, got great pics & video of many different fish.

The beach is beautiful & very private w/plenty of covered lounging. There are 4 pools to choose from & w/the layout & spaciousness, none ever feel crowded.

We only ate @ 1 of the restaurants one very late night wich had the most delicious surf & turf, which easily fed the 4 of us.

Overall this was an excellent hotel w/great, friendly staff...We'd definitely stay here again & would recommend our friends to stay as well.

Our time at Fiesta Americana was fantastic! The facility is amazing including several huge pools with infinity edges looking out on the Pacific. The staff were great and very attentive. It was nice to be located outside of the downtown because it was not as crazy. Great hotel.

Stayed at this resort for my husbands awards trip and it was very relaxing 5 days of doing nothing really was just what I needed. This was our first time to Cabo and I did enjoy it but I'm not sure I would go back.
The beach leaves something to be desired... You cannot really swim in the ocean and the sand is more like a gravel consistency, not very friendly on your feet. The resort is not AI but for us it was so I can't really speak to prices on things. The resort is HUGE thank god we were in the same building as most of the facilities (spa, gym, etc), but the room had ZERO view all we could see was the two palm trees outside our second floor room....needless to say I was NOT HAPPY with this.
The food was ok, nothing spectacular except for the pico...it was awesome. The service around the pool and in the cabanas was lacking, it took FOREVER to just get a drink or a bottle of water. The day we rented a cabana you would have thought the service would have been a little better but no, the service was the same. Our waiter was extremely slow and never ended up bringing me my lunch one day a little disappointing.
The spa was FABULOUS!!!! Usually when you go to a resort the spa services are just ok...only one other resort that I have been to was this good and it was a destination spa. I had a firming massage from Socorro and she was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! One of the best massages I have ever had. The spa itself is also very nice as far as the facilities go, top notch.
Overall it was a fun trip because the people we there made it fun, it's always good to see them however I would not return to fiesta Americana on my own.

Room Tip: Get a spa treatment, higher floors have better view.
