Three of us took the mid-day whale watching trip with Whale Watch Cabo and it was excellent. Our guide, Elisa, was very knowledgeable about the area and the local whales. The guides are also doing research and whale rescue besides giving tours. They are committed to the safety of the whales and work hard to insure you have a great experience.

If you want a whale watch trip that is informative and personal this is the group to go with.

Thank you for sharing your experience and some of what Whale Watch Cabo's guides are doing to improve the lives of the whales that come here to breed and give birth.
Elisa and Alex are our newest guides, that being said, together they share over 14 years of experience as marine wildlife guides with biologist level knowledge. We know we are lucky to have them to guide our guests experiences with the whales here in Cabo.
Together our guides are in the process of establishing the Baja Whale Foundation, to give something back to the whales and marine mammals of the southern Baja.
Soon to be a registered NGO, the Baja Whale Foundation has two initial projects, the creation of a Humpback Whale Photo ID project to coordinate studies between groups studying the whales in Alaska, British Columbia and ourselves here in Cabo.
Secondly, through the Baja Whale Foundation, our guides are trying to arrange proper training to assist whales in distress in the area. We have already purchased a suitable inflatable boat to allow us to make the rescue attempts, now we are working on getting proper training for these rescues. Each year there are some whales spotted in fishing nets, we hope to be able to assist these whales and save a life.
We hope to have you visit us again for any of our trips around the Baja to see the wonderful whales that we are so lucky to encounter.

This year's Christmas trip for two weeks to Cabo brought relaxation and great weather. Thanks to Whale Watch Cabo on January 7th, it also brought a great memory of an 'up close and personal' with a mother whale and one week old baby who was learning to play/breach. Janneke our guide and marine biologist and Santos our navigator were respectful of the whales, knowledgeable about whale lore and helpful to the serious photographers on board with great advice on shutter speeds etc. When we travel we look for companies with small footprints on the planet ... compared to the other operators on the waters in Cabo, this is one of the most eco friendly we've experienced. Be sure not to get confused about the meeting spot. They don't invest in fancy offices so meeting right at the marina gate IS the right place to be!

Thank you for your review of our whale encounter tour, we really appreciate guests that take the time to share their experience with other Trip Advisor users. TA is what we use when we travel, so we depend on fellow travelers too for honest advice.
You do make a very important point. As all of our guides are Marine Biologists we do not run a standard office - we prefer to be out on the boat with our guests and the whales of course!
So we do meet at the entrance to our Dock LMN in the Cabo San Lucas Marina (there are bathrooms and a minimart for beverages/snacks to bring on board). This is behind the Wyndham Resort and across from the Baja Cantina Restaurant.
Our focus is on non-invasive whale encounters with a fun and educational approach to sharing these experiences with our guests in small groups. We offer something quite unique in Cabo, and we welcome photographers, amateur and professional, we know how important it is to 'know your subject' and this is where our biologist guides come in, ready to assist our guests in 'getting THE shot'!
Thanks again for sharing your time and experience with us - we know Janneke and Santos appreciate your kindness.

This was one of the great highlights of our trip. I am one to do research well in advance before arriving and I loved everything about this group. Since they take US dollars, I liked the fact that a few days before we left, I sent Peter an email and asked if he could send me an invoice for the remaining balance. I am one to pay ahead so it was less cash we had to carry.
We went on a tour on a Wednesday but didn't see any whales and before we made it back to the marina, we were already booked for the 8:30 tour on Sat. Dec 15th. Elisa was great and we saw several double breaches that morning. I also enjoyed watching Elisa because she was just as excited as we were.
My husband was like what is the big deal about whale watching. (He is more into Mississippi deer hunting). After the first sighting, he was hooked. Already talking about going back.
Even though we didn't get a chance to meet Peter and Janneke, during all of our correspondence, they treated me like a long lost friend. You cannot go wrong with this group. They are wonderful.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us here in Cabo! One thing we love about our jobs is how amazing the whales are, and on any given day how wonderful an impression they can make on our guests.
A word about whale sightings on our tours. During the season, December 15 to April 15 - last year, we saw whales on every single tour. So far this year, prior to the season beginning we did see whales on 94% of the preseason tours, and only one tour (of about 135 tours) so far this year during the season have we not seen whales.
However good this sightings record may be, we are dealing with wild animals, and so we offer a whale guarantee. This means if you do not see whales on your tour, we invite you back, space permitting. It is rare, but it does happen. But we do not want people going away disappointed, we want our guests to have a wonderful time and leave with a greater appreciation and respect for the whales.
Thanks for the positive feedback. We feel very lucky to be able to introduce our guests to the wonderful whales of Cabo, and our small groups means getting to spend some time meeting wonderful people too!

The opposite of a "booze crew," this trip is really focused on seeing whales. Our guide, Elisa, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and very informative. The weather was a little funky and not a perfect day for whale watching, but Santos and Elisa checked all their favorite spots and we wound up with some very close up encounters with humpback whales. The crew was also very respectful of the animals, you could tell they really cared.

Fun trip with good people, would definitely recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with our crew. You are right, not a booze cruise at all. In fact, two things guests cannot bring on board: alcohol or dogs (so no chihuahua's in the purse please...) - hopefully someone is getting my sense of humor here.

We are pleased to be an alternative to the big boat, booze cruise, chase the whales around type of tour. Our guides knowledge of whale biology and our captains years of finding the right whales for our guests to respectfully encounter we feel arrives in a winning combination.

This year we will be working towards the launch of the Baja Whale Foundation as a NGO to support whale conservation, rescue and research in the Cabo San Lucas area. It is our way of giving something back to the animals we are so lucky to encounter and find so fascinating!

Thanks again, hope to see you again for some more wonderful encounters with the whales!

We've gone out on two trips so far and have one more to go! Whale Watch Cabo is THE company to use when doing a whale watch in Cabo. The guides are all expert marine biologists who know marine wildlife, as well as fascinating history and geological facts about Cabo and the Sea of Cortez. Their passion for what they do is only matched by their passion to make sure that YOU have a once in a lifetime experience. Janneke, Alex, Peter and Santos were great hosts and hostesses and made sure that we saw, and were able to take pictures at the Arch; "lovers' beach," as well as taking us right beside amazing Humpback whales! We got to see several breaches; a mother and calf; tail flapping... pretty phenomenal! Not to be missed!!

Thank you both for joining us on several tours. I know our staff enjoyed sharing your enthusiasm for responsible whale encounters and photographing the whales - Great photos!

You really know how to go whale watching the best way. It is not a time of the day choice if you want to see more acrobatic whale activity, it is simply a case of going out a few times, a few days apart.

Here in Cabo, we have found from experience that the whales go through several days of heightened activity (mating displays, breaching, tail slapping, head lunging) followed by several days of calm, relaxed activity. We believe this is partially due to Cabo being at the 'hub' of the whale migration Super Highway. New whales come into the area, change the dynamic and the activity level goes up. Whales move on a few days later, and the energy drops off. Then, repeat.

Thanks again for joining us on several tours, it was great to get to know both of you - from the WWC Crew, we wish you both many happy whale watching days to come!
