Would I stay there again, certainly!..be sure to ask for the Ridge, as that is where the infinity pools are located. however, make sure you don't get a room that just overlooks restaurant rooftops. Be sure to avoid the salespeople located at all the desks to the left and right as you enter the lobby. They will try to sell you time shares. Listen to them only long enough to receive your free bar drink coupon. Basically one minute into the conversation. If you tell them you're not interested they will stop the conversation. Themed dinner nights are a bit lame, as this is where the mediocre food comes in. However, after a few shots of tequila the evening really picks up. Breakfast buffets are good. You can walk down the street to Cabo adventures to pick up your rides to dolphin and camel adventures. never realized how many Americans and Canadians repeatedly spend so much time down in Cabo.

This is truly a beautiful resort. We stayed in both a Playa Grande room and a room on The Ridge. We had a great time and we will highlight some of the positive points, as well as, the negative.
We had a one bedroom each time and they each had two bathrooms and two televisions. They also had a sleeper sofa and also a small cot in the closet. The furniture is beautiful and beds are VERY comfortable. They have enough water pressure in the showers to peel the bark off of a log. Note that hot and cold handles may be reversed in some showers so check before giving up. They had a full kitchen with granite islands with all appliances, except a dishwasher and oven (the maid comes everyday and will wash any dishes, so not a problem). We think all of the above is standard for all of the rooms throughout the resort.
The Ridge room that we had looked out over the marina. It was not the best available room, since it was next to the walkway off the resort, so people were always walking by us, but this was not too much of a problem. The Ridge offers a beautiful infinity pool, overlooking the Pacific ocean and also a children's pool & slide. There is a bar & small restaurant with very good food by the pool and a swim up bar. Our waiter, Juan was great. This pool area is only available to people who have a room on the Ridge or possibly if you ask the front desk for an access card to get up the elevator to the area. They have a happy hour at the Ridge from 9 to 12 daily for mamosas and bloody marys. Regular happy hours at all the pools is 2 to 4. They have an additional happy hour in the lobby bar from 6 to 8.
Our second week, we changed rooms to the Playa Grande section, since we wanted to see the Pacific ocean. This room was much the same as previously described, but a little older, but without the floor plan improvements we saw at The Ridge. It had a beautiful view of the beach, where we could watch the whales and boats. The Playa Grande pool is bigger. louder, and seems to be more crowded. We preferred the pool at The Ridge.
The strangest thing we encountered at this hotel was the energy saving device they have on the wall by the entry. In this box you can put your room key or maid service card. When you take your room key out of the box all of the lights and air conditioning turn off. When you return and put your room key in the box the power goes back on. Anyway, we got a good laugh when we figured out why the light were going out when one of us left and didn't leave a key in the box.
The reason we can't give this resort a five star is because they do not offer palapas or umbrellas on the beach. We like to sit on the beach, but it is much too hot without shade. Most people went to the pool, since the beach wasn't much of an option. Also this hotel is so huge and it is up a hill, which means a great deal of walking up and down, if you want to go into town. The elevators are very quick and always available, but you have to experiment with which floor to get off, since it is a bit confusing. Restaurant food was mediocre and not inexpensive. Checkout was a breeze with Arturo. They put the bill under your door the night before and you sign it in the morning. It took only 2 minutes

Overall, this is a great place to stay in Cabo. We had zero hassle with time share sales pressure.
The rooms are beautiful, the staff is very friendly and the location is very close to the marina & town, however, if you have any walking or mobility problems, you may want to choose a different hotel. Even with the elevators & ramps there is still a great deal walking to get to your room.
On a different note, we used Gray Line transportation to and from the airport. It was about $41.00 round trip per person and the van we had was very nice, clean & new.

We were booked at a sister resort and were given a free upgrade to Playa Grande. Lucky us. This is a very, very nice place to spend a week in the middle of winter. We never walked on concrete or ceramic tile -- always cut stone. Multiple pools and spas, some for adults only. Very warm water, even in the evening. Pools lined with blue tile look very inviting. Love all the cactus gardens. The entire grounds are beautiful. Then there is the location!!! Big sand beach facing South into the Pacific with only a few resorts. The resort is nestled right into the spectacular rock formations near Lands End. We watched whales from our apartment. The all-inclusive is optional and we didn't use it. We had a kitchen with cook top but no oven. No need for a dishwasher -- the maid does them. It cost us $24 to take a cab to Wal-Mart and back but we saved a bunch of money on food. There are several restaurants within about half a mile. Easy walk to the Marina which has a wide promenade all around it with lots of shops. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The closer to the beach and higher up the better the view. The grounds are so beautiful there really...

Is on the "non swimmable" beach side of Cabo. Can walk on the beach to get to other resorts, but can't go in the water. Easy 5 min walk to the marina, where you an get water taxi to Medano Beach (swimmable beach),or to see whales, etc. Some good places to eat and drink in Marina too, nice walking area, lots of vendors, safe, tourist spot. Beach was very nice, and big, Pools here were clean, big. Rooms decent. We had a 1 bedroom, smelled like bug spray, but was clean, large, everything you need. Internet at this hotel was ineffective. Spent hours trying to get it to work and gave up. All stores in Marina and downtown have free wifi, including Starbucks 10 minutes walking away. All staff excellent, very nice. Drinks at pool bar decent, nothing too good. Didn't eat at too many of restaurants there, had breakfast buffet one day,and was not too impressed. Didn't get all inclusive, was $95 a person a day. Is pretty cheap on the streets to eat and drink. This is the slower, calmer part of town. Medano Beach is where all the action is. Lots going on at the beach, and downtown area.

Room Tip: When it says pool/ocean view they mean a pool view, and if you reach over you can see the beach

We had a wonderful time the weather was high 80's all week! The room was great we had to wait for our room to be ready on the first day, we were told 30 min but well over an hour.

My husband and I are owners here at the Playa Grande my suggestion to people who give out the towel keys maybe wait a day if you want them to attend things that are new meeting or timeshare people just want to go to the rooms after check in and not be bothered by what they can offer you ex whale watch, jet ski etc if you come at a time and meet with whom ever. I know we did not do this we could not be bothered.

The activities staff at the pool did not seem excited as they have been in the pass it seemed very laid back!

But otherwise I cannot wait to return next year!

Room Tip: Never went to the spa so I'm unable to comment.

My family and I have been staying at Playa Grande for the past 7 years and the stays have only gottem better. The staff, especially the entertainment staff, is always exceptional and welcoming. The resort itself is beautiful and located just a short walk from downtown. The rooms are spacious, clean, well-decorated. The spa is world-class, the pool is a blast, and the activities and events never disappoint. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed for two weeks at this hotel and was very happy. We were a family of 13, 5 being children and we were all very happy. The cleaning staff always did an excellent job on our rooms. The entertainment staff were amazing. They remembered our childrens names and always made sure they felt special and important. The resort is walking distance to all the shops and dining on the marina. We ate at the theme nights quite often and did some cooking in our room. The wait staff was excellent and very good with the kids as well. The pool is clean although it could use some maintenance as a few tiles came off while swimming. the resort itself is clean and extremely friendly.

Room Tip: Choose a room that has a kitchenette it will make your trip cheaper in the long run as trips to wal...
